Our commission is glad to announce that there will be DAGYAW 2023 with the theme:
"Rejoicing in Hope” (Romans 12:12), taken from the Annual World Youth Day 2023
Theme.
This is an overnight activity that aims to address some pastoral concerns of our young
people as they face today’s difficult challenges and to revitalize in them our Diocesan
spirit of synodality and communion while appreciating the culture and traditions of the
host vicariate.
In this regard, we would like to invite all young people in your parish/ chaplaincy/ school/
university/ youth group/ lay and religious association to join the DAGYAW 2023 this
coming December 1-2, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 5:00 AM at Victorias City Coliseum,
Osmeña Avenue, Victorias City.
With the intercessions of the Blessed Mother, the Star of Evangelization, and her most
chase spouse, St. Joseph, our heartfelt thanks to your favorable response. God bless

PRIMER
WHAT IS DAGYAW?
It is a Diocesan Youth Gathering spearheaded by the Commission on Youth, in
collaboration with other diocesan commissions, where young people from the different
youth settings in the diocese come into fellowship with one another, sharing and enriching
themselves through catechesis and other activities. This is celebrated annually in
response to the National Youth Day held every December 16.
DAGYAW 2023
After last year’s successful and momentous gathering, this upcoming Dagyaw 2023 will
be an occasion to reecho WYD 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal, appreciate the culture and
traditions of the host vicariate- Vicariate of Victorias, and to deepen our Catholic
spirituality.
THEME
The theme of the Annual World Youth Day 2023, “"Rejoicing in Hope” (Romans 12:12) will
be the theme of Dagyaw 2023.
OBJECTIVES
General: That the youth can rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, and persevere in prayer.
Specific:
1. That the young people will share a lively and joyful experience of faith and
communion.
2. That the young people will be united as active agents in realizing their roles leading
towards a participatory Church.
3. That the young people will be led to answer their call to holiness through vocational
discernment and evangelizing mission.
PARTICIPANTS:
1. Maximum of 50 parish youth is requested to attend Dagyaw 2023. Active and
responsible parish youth are highly encouraged to join.
2. PhP 50.00/youth is the minimum solidarity share (registration fee) which will cater
the snacks and help other finances of Dagyaw 2023.
3. Gate will be closed at 8PM.
4. Vicariate/ parish youth leaders are reminded to be mindful of the health conditions
(e.g., asthma, allergies, anemia, etc.) of their respective youth.
5. Youth ages 17 and below should have their parent’s permit submitted to the
vicariate/ parish youth leaders; DCY will give the format.
