Project Scope Statement

Project: Wilmont Pharmacy Drone Project Revision No: 00

Purpose: To develop prototype drones that will be used for delivering prescriptions and
drugstore items to customers in San Francisco area.

Project Goals: The goal is to efficiently deliver Wilmont’s product and services to customers.
The success of the project will result in further drone technology development for other
locations under Wilmont area of operation.

Project scope description:

 Product Scope-
1. Capitalize our (Drone Tech) systems, interfaces and business process to
Wilmont’s requirements.
2. Engineer a drone to Wilmont specification with special adaptation for the
planned temperature-controlled product bagging system along with a bubble-
type cushioning system for the customer delivery packaging.
 Services Scope-
1. Handle piloting the drones and delivery of the products.
2. Interface communications about deliveries for Wilmont’s customers
electronically through email, online and through mobile alerts as the customer
requests.
Primary Deliverables:
Product Deliverables-
1. Customizing of Drone Tech’s existing interface to Wilmont’s to accommodate
order entry, communication of delivery confirmation.
2. Customization of Drone Tech’s existing systems to Wilmont’s.
3. Customization of Drone Tech’s existing business process to Wilmont’s.
4. Modification of drone to include a temperature-controlled product bagging
system and a bubble-type cushioning system.
Services Deliverables-
1. Fly drone for Wilmont during prescriptions and drugstore items delivery.
2. Ensure Wilmont information is uncompromised in the project delivery process.
Delivery acceptance criteria:
Product deliverables-
1. Meet Wilmont’s requirement to accommodate order entry, communication of
delivery confirmation.
2. Meet requirement of customizing Drone Tech’s existing systems to Wilmont’s.
3. Meet requirement of customizing Drone Tech’s existing business process to
Wilmont’s.
4. Meet requirement of modifying drone tech’s drone to include a temperature –
controlled product bagging system and a bubble-type cushioning system.
Key Milestones:

 Drone system configuration and testing: February–March.


 Drone bagging system installation and commissioning: January –April.
 Drone cushioning system installation and testing: January-April.
 Drone customizing (painting): April.
 Interface drone tech system with Wilmont’s: August.
 Drone trials: September.
 First delivery: October.
 Project closeout: November.
Constraints:

 The project begins on January 5 and the first customer delivery flight should take
place no later than November 30 to avoid harsh weather in the San Francisco area.
 Customers in apartment building are not eligible to the drone service due to delivery
issues.
 Budget cannot exceed US$1,750,000.
 To ensure that Wilmont’s security will not be compromised and no breach for
customer’s privacy and Wilmont’s Drone project information.
Assumptions:

 Drone Tech will be responsible for the Drone’s maintenance and spare pieces.
 Drone Tech will be responsible for system updates.
 Drone Tech will be responsible for ant damaged on the drone.
Scope Exclusions:

 Use of the flying drones on harsh weather.


 Use the flying drones for other purposes than prescription and drugstore product
delivery.
 Drones performance due to final weight delivery order.
 Extra batteries for the drones.
 Delivery close airport area.
