Introduction

Thank you for taking your time to read this PDF. I

hope you enjoy this routine and the small subtleties
it provides.

Enjoy.

Impromptu Invisible
deck

The spectator is shown an invisible deck and

through making some decisions they decide on a
playing card. The performer spreads through the
cards and reveals the only facedown/faceup card
in the pack is the named playing card!

Impromptu Invisible
deck
Method/Script

This is my variation of the Invisible Deck, there is a

tiny bit of setup however, it takes less than ten
seconds and you can literally borrow a pack of
cards and do this setup while talking to the
spectator.

Take the Jack, Queen and King of Clubs, turn

them face up and the pack face down. Take the
Jack fifth from the top. Take the Queen and place
it inside the middle of the deck, and the King fifth
from the bottom. That’s how quick and easy your
set up is!

6
“We have Red cards and Black cards, take one
from me”. If the spectator takes Black then you say
“Perfect, so any reason why you chose black?”. If
the spectator takes Red then say, “Perfect, so you
have taken Red away giving us all the Black cards”.
This way no matter what they say we will always
have Black cards as the final result, this is called
Equivoque.

“Now we have the Clubs and the Spades, imagine

placing one of the suits on the table on top of the
pack of cards, which one?”. If the spectator says
“Clubs”. Then you would say, “perfect the Clubs
soak into the playing cards”. If the spectator says
“Spades”. Then you would say, “Awesome, so you
7
have gotten rid of the Spades which leaves us with
Clubs”.

“Now we have picture cards and number cards,

imagine throwing one in the air, which one?”. If the
spectator names pictures you say “Awesome so we
have the Jack, Queen and King. Name one”. If the
spectator names Numbers, you say “Alright that
leaves us with the Pictures! We have the Jack,
Queen and King. Throughout this you have made
fair choices, but I want to make this final choice the
fairest, Jack, Queen and King. Whatever one you
name is the one we will have that’ll complete the
card.

If the spectator names “Queen of Clubs”, spread

through the pack but hold the top five cards with
your thumb so it isn’t revealed that there is a Jack
on top.

If the spectator names “Jack of Clubs”, spread

through the pack revealing the fifth card. If the
spectator names “King of Clubs”, turn the pack so
all the faces are facing you and spread to the fifth
card!
