Woman was killed with three bullet wounds

in the south of Guayaquil

As María Gabriela Vélez Velásquez, the woman who died this Sunday afternoon in a
hospital in the south of the city was identified after receiving at least three gunshot wounds
in the Nueva Ideal cooperative, located in Central Guasmo, in the south of Guayaquil.

According to witnesses, it would be an alleged robbery to which she would have put up
resistance; others on the other hand assure that it would be a hit man.

Relatives helped the victim; she was taken to a hospital and there her death was
confirmed. Uniformed officers verified that the woman had a criminal record.

According to authorities, from June 1 to yesterday, about ten violent deaths have been
reported in the city. Uniformed officers investigate these crimes amidst mobility
restrictions.
