Homicide Report
On November 22, 2010 at approximately 2150 hours, Zone Six
Patrol units notified Homicide units of a person shot [in the 600
block of Virginia Ave NE]. The victim, Charles Boyer, was located
outside in front of [an apartment building in the 600 block of
Virginia Ave NE]. Grady EMS and AFD arrived on scene and
relayed to patrol units that the victim had no vitals. Homicide
units arrived to investigate the incident. Zone Six CID units
conducted a canvass of the area for potential witnesses. During
the canvass, a second victim, Lisa McGraw, was located in [an
apartment]. According to Ms. McGraw the couple went out for
drinks, stopped by a nearby convenience store, and drove to [the
600 block] of Virginia Ave NE, where she resides. Shortly after
exiting Mr. Boyer's vehicle, Ms. McGraw stated that she felt a gun
on her head. Quantavious Marques Grier requested that she give
up her apartment keys and walk to her apartment. As they
approached Ms. McGraw's apartment, Mr. Boyer's ran from the
perpetrators. Ms. McGraw stated that she ran in the opposite
direction and jumped over a neighbor's balcony seeking help. Ms.
McGraw stated she heard several gunshots as she ran away.
According to witnesses, two to three males with masks were
seen leaving the crime scene in a dark colored sports utility
vehicle. The motive appears to be homicide. Case remains under
investigation.
