As a student of history, what do you think

will be your “duties”?

The history is made of events from before and long time ago. History are facts but it does
not stop right there. Most of these events did happen out of courage and mixed emotions
and traits of human beings- heroicness displayed to fight for the country and inhumane acts
against Filipinos during the time when Philippines got colonized.
My duty is to recognize the doings of the people who played a part in the History and
learn from them. Their displayed principles are as significant as their names to the current
era to give a better future for the future generation as everyone should derive the historical
knowledge and good traits so it can be passed through generations to generations.
As of now, social medias became the means to be updated with the news and etc.
Youngsters such as me can be easily manipulated by the what we see and hear from these
social medias. We should be knowledgeable enough not to be influenced so we can make
better decisions for the future in terms of electing and supporting who really deserves to
lead the country and the duty to be opinionated at all cost. Being unable to choose great
leaders would put harm and would lead to greater damage not just in the community where we
belong but also to fellow Filipinos who are less privileged.
Lastly, the duty on not putting the blame on whoever from the history. Changes in the
environment- in society, the economy, politics and technology mean that we will be faced with
unexpected or unwelcome ambiguity and complexity in the wherever people may believe that
outcomes are out of people’s immediate control.
