INSTRUCTION: Using critical writing and substantial arguments, write an essay of not less than 500

words entitled “The Boons and Banes of Academic Freeze in Time of Pandemic.”

This pandemic caused a lot of changes in our way of life. Our lives are constantly changing,
thus we have a really difficult time adjusting. This pandemic's effects on education have been
particularly severe. The most important sector of the global economy is education since it has the
ability to provide us with the future success in life that we desire. We can't live as individuals if we
don't know how to live. Education is essential for everyone as a result. Everybody's lives will be
impacted by the freeze. That will have a huge impact on the younger generation as well as everyone
who is a student. There are advantages and disadvantages to academic freelancing.

There are both advantages and disadvantages to the academic freeze during this pandemic. The advantage
is that if the Academic Freeze is implemented, the children or students will be safe because it is preferable to delay
the children's education by just one year in order to prevent them from contracting a virus. Although not all
students can afford to purchase the technology required for online classes, and as we all know, the Philippines is
ranked 63rd out of 100 countries in terms of internet speed, it is critical to remember that no child will be left
behind. Concerns have also been raised about the fact that most students do not have consistent access to WIFI or
Internet connectivity. They will have difficulty adjusting because physical learning differs from online learning.
There will be a time or year loss if the student drops out after a year. The Academic Freeze will also have an
impact on teachers, and all of them will lose their jobs, just as many did during the epidemic. Furthermore,
some students would fall behind because they did not have the financial means to pay for online education. In
my opinion, an academic freeze is unnecessary because classes should be available online.

We all understand the value of education to us, but this does not lessen the significance of health. I place a
high value on our health, but I also think that learning is crucial. I can see why some individuals want to put their
education on hold since they can't afford to buy books, but what about those who want to keep going to school? I
think the choice to send your child to school or not still rests with you or the guardian. It is up to us to make the
choice since blended learning, which includes both online and printed modules, is the Department of
Education's new standard for classroom instruction. Also, you have the choice to continue or not continue if you
are a college student and feel that you won't learn anything because your course is skill-based. We should get
used to the reality that we are now dealing with a pandemic, thus I don't think there should be a block on
academic activities. As citizens, we should also follow simple rules and guidelines, such as wearing a mask,
face shield, and hand sanitizer whenever we walk outside. Stay at home if you have nothing to do outdoors and
don’t go if it isn’t vital or necessary.

The introduction of the paper focuses on the changes the pandemic brings and the difficulties and
inconveniences it brought with it. It also states that the academic effect on people was especially severe on the
influence on the economy as it was an essential to everyone’s livelihood. The body goes straight to the point about
the disadvantages and advantages of the academic freeze showing how the pandemic affected the educational
system and the countries that were affected by it. When it reached the conclusion, it seems that it still brings new
information to the paper even though it should’ve summarized the paper instead causing the conclusion to be the
same if not greater than the information provided by the body.
