1. Definition of ADR
 Primary Purpose
2. Prior to the enactment of RA 9285 and RA 826, there were already
existing out of Court proceedings which are primarily designed to minor
controversies outside the Court, with the force and effect of a Court
decision. Again, the primary purpose of which is to declog court
dockets. In fact, these proceedings are condition precedent before a
case may be filed in Court, otherwise, the same is dismissible. Thus, to
lay the basis of the origin of ADR law in the Philippines, a closer study
of the following is necessary:
a. Jurisdiction, under B.P. 129 (must memorize, you will be referring
to this all the time as you sail along your remedial laws)
b. Revised Rule on Summary Procedure
i. Criminal Cases covered by the Rule on Summary

iii. Difference between direct filing of cases, filing before the
Office of the City/Provincial Prosecutor for preliminary for
