Credits: 3
Course Coordinator- Dr. KasiprasadMannepalli
Course instructors:Dr.Naveen Kishore, Mr.E.Kiran Kumar, Mr Srikanth Reddy

Course Objective:

This is an introductory course designed to provide students with the basic concepts of statistics for data analysis and
machine learning and artificial intelligence. Topics covered include basic probability theory, Random variable and
Random processes, hypothesis testing and artificial neural networks. It provides not only the analytical details of
probability and statistics but also deals how to use them in design of machine learning algorithms.

Course Rationale:

This course provides an elementary introduction to probability and statistics with applications. Topics include: basic
combinations, random variables, probability distributions, Bayesian inference.Industry, worldwide, is very active in
developing products (software/hardware) based on these standards with emphasis on the latest Artificial intelligence,
neural network and machine learning technologies such as supervised and unsupervised neural networks. In this
context the learner is required to gain a practical and theoretical understanding of how probability and statistics can
be implemented in artificial intelligence technologies as part of the course.
