Although / Even though

Examples:
Even though I studied hard, I did not pass the test.
Although my phone was expensive, I think it was worth it.
Although she is overweight, she is not unhealthy.
Even though she eats healthy food, Jane often gets sick.
Even though my boyfriend makes me angry, I still love him.
Rewrite these sentences, using “although” or “even though” (the first one is done for you):
1. I’m sick, but I will still go to work. Even though I don’t feel well, I will still go to work.______________________________
2. It’s hot outside, but I still want to go jogging. ______________________________________________________________
3. Learning English is hard, but I enjoy it. ___________________________________________________________________
4. Jack is a vegetarian, but he sometimes eats fish. ___________________________________________________________

Though
“Though” has the same meaning as “although” or “even though”.
** You can put “though” at the beginning of a sentence, in the middle of a sentence, and also at the end of a sentence.

Sentence Pattern:
Though [sentence A], [sentence B]
[sentence B], though [sentence A]
[Sentence A]. [Sentence B], though.

Examples:
Though I’ve met that man twice, I can’t remember his name.
I’ve met that man twice, though I can’t remember his name.
I’ve met that man twice. I can’t remember his name, though.

Though I work very hard, I don’t make much money.


I don’t make much money, though I work very hard.
I don’t make much money. I work very hard, though.

Rewrite these sentences three times—a) first with “though” at the beginning of the sentence, then b) with “though” in the
middle of the sentence, and finally c) with “though” at the end of the sentence.
