Background
In order to prevent occasional leakages at the high DCI / 330 - February 2014
pressure fuel pipes we would like to provide you with
following information: Concerns
MAN Diesel & Turbo four-stroke
The tightening torque of the high pressure fuel pipes (Group engines L48/60CR, V48/60CR
437 in work card 000.30) from CR high pressure pump to
accumulator, as well as high pressure fuel injection pipes Summary
(Group 436 in work card 000.30) from accumulator to the Recommendations on increased tightening
torques of high pressure fuel pipes
fuel injection valve, has been increased from 280 to 320Nm
on the 48/60CR engines.

Recommendations
All high-pressure fuel pipes on the Common Rail injection system must be installed tension-free. If the high-
pressure fuel pipes are not installed tension-free, this may damage components or cause leakages in the
Common-Rail injection system.
Please find enclosed the updated table with the tightening torque for your engine documentation.
While tightening the high pressure pipes please make sure that the torque wrench with the spanner, if
required mounted on a extension is in green marked position shown in picture below. Only in this position the
required tightening torque can be applied correctly.
