III. Development

A. Motivation
Week 1 – “Run to the Board”
• The teacher will divide the class into two groups. (equal number of members)
• The teacher will post “Types of Business” on the board.
• Each member of the group will run to the board to write their ideas or types of business they
already know. (it should be one by one)
• The first who will finish it first will be the winner.

Week 2 – “Roundtable”
• The teacher will divide the class into groups.
• Each members of the group will share their observations whenever they visit the food
establishments, shopping malls or other small types of business in their communities.
• After the group sharing, the teacher will ask each group to share their thoughts to the class.

Objective: Discuss the different types of business operations and organizations.


Appreciate the importance of business organizations.

A. Discussion (25 mins)


TOPIC: Different Types of Business Organizations
 From their activity, the teacher will hold the class discussion on the different types of
organizations. Using a PowerPoint presentations, present the slides about the different business
establishments.

B. Activity (15 mins)


(Let’s stop and talk awhile!)
 The teacher will group the students.
 Each group consist of four (4) members.
 The teacher will ask the group to assign who will be “A”, “B”, “C”, “D”.
 Each letters will have corresponding questions. And each students will share their answer to
the group depending on their assigned letter.
 The questions will be posted by the teacher.

C. Generalization (5 mins)
(Unfinished Sentence Strategy)
 Using the unfinished sentence strategy, ask the students to complete one phrase about the topic
and the insights they gained from the group activity.

Day 2
Objective: Describe the types of business operations.

A. Recall (5 mins)
(Numbered Heads)
 The teacher will divide the class into two groups.
 Assigned each students a number by counting off per group.
 The teacher post an outline about their lesson last meeting, the students will need to fill it out.
 After that, the teacher randomly calls a number.
 The students with that number from each group will go to the board and fill out the outline of
the lesson last meeting.
 The student who will answer it correctly will get a point.

B. Discussion (25 mins)


TOPIC: Types of Business Operations
 From their activity, the teacher will hold the class discussion on the different types of
operations. Using a PowerPoint presentations, present the slides about the different business
establishments.

C. Generalization (5 mins)
(Whip Around Strategy)
 Using the Whip Around Strategy, the students will share their learnings from todays’
discussion.

Week 2
Day 1
Objective: Make a project plan for a small business.

A. Recall (5 mins)

 The teacher will conduct a recitation.


 Recitation: Review the previous topic.

B. Activity (30 mins)


Performance Task #5
(Making Project Plan for a Small Business)
 The teacher will ask the students to find their partner.
 The students will think about their future business.
 Process the activity using these guide:
o What kind of business is it? (it can be a food establishments, shopping malls, and
other small types of business.)
o What will be your future product and name of your business?
o Make a written report and visual presentation of their output.
 The teacher will introduce and discuss the template to the students for their project plan.
 The project plan will be submitted next meeting and also the presentation of the project plan.

C. Generalization (5 mins)
(Share your Experience)
 The teacher will ask the students to share their experience when making their project plan for
their future business and what they have learned from it.

Day 2
A. Recall (5 mins)
 The teacher will randomly call students to recall the discussion last meeting.

B. Activity (20 mins)


(Presentation of the Project Plan)
 The students will be given time to polish their project plan.
 After that, the teacher will call five (5) to six (6) pairs of student to present their work.

C. Quiz (15 mins)

 The teacher will explain the procedures for the quiz.

D. Generalization (5 mins)
 The teacher will call students to share their learnings.

and the insights they gained from the group activity.

Week 2 – Whip Around


 Students quickly and verbally share one thing they learned in the class today. The teacher can
have the students toss a ball from one to another, or just have a volunteer.
D. Values Integration/Valuing
 Hardwork/Stewardship – Let the students realize how important it is to have the qualities that
an entrepreneur must have. And how important to be responsible and be creative in planning
their future business.
