whose socio culture is dominantly comprised of youth. With globalization of world, Pakistan is

noticed in population composition. Way back in early 80’s and 90’s there exist the trend of large
families which was supported by one person, usually head of the family which is now replaced
by new trends to a great extent. Survey reveals that joint family system has been lessening all
over the country and people are more inclined towards nuclear family, where a couple lives
along with their children. Nuclearization of family is a phenomenon which has open door to
wide variety of opportunities in terms of business scenario, transforming the basic forms of
business into more advanced and customized form. This article will able to cover only few of
them. For instance, to support a family and provide better quality of living both men and
women are working altogether unveils new spectrum in many areas simultaneously, firstly it

eating habits and liking and disliking, as both the parents are working women require to feed

appealing group of ideas in the society. Initially this idea materialized in the form of tin food,
which was not only available for local market but it was also being exported later to the foreign
markets. This business continues and adopted a new form with introduction of wide variety of

national. The industry continues to flourish and has been successfully diversifying, recently

women find it feasible to fetch the food from food chain nearest to their work place, secondly
with limited number of family members dining out has become more affordable and
entertaining then before as restaurateurs are offering buffet system like village and customized
ingredients in burger like subway. The era between 2000-2010 reveals the fact that people
perception over dining out has been extensively changed, they found it entertaining to dine

industry. Business sector of Pakistan is agriculture based and is one of the leading producer of

market. Women both working and non working prefer to wear ready to wear, trendy clothes
especially working women who need to be updated, requires comfortable and hassle free
clothing has resulted in prêt business, where cloth is stitched in large quantity in different sizes,
nourishing the retail business. The trend of nuclear family has make the both men and women
both customized in their choices, willingness for designer wear is rapidly increasing. in our part
of society wedding is considered to the most important event, when relatives gather from
faraway places, to make the event most memorable and to best serve the guest ,many areas of
business are developing, for example bride and groom dressed in designer stuff, wedding
ceremony is coordinated by a wedding planner , bride get make over by professional makeup
artists. Not only for special occasions, women pampered themselves in beauty parlors on
regular basis. This has resulted in a very positive way as it has enable many women to start up
their work at home as they are not allowed to work in the field. Another opportunity exist in
the form of car business, again this opportunity can be functionalized for two types of classes.
As the nuclear family trend is not only exist in high income class but it also prevail in middle
class so both the classes are contribute in car business simultaneously , obviously in different
ways. Middle class nuclear family is opting for small cars for the whole family on the other hand
family members of nuclear family have become more specific and choosy about their car
collection which has increased the trend of imported cars. I would like to share the example of
INDIA who is well serving the issue, TATA has launched NANO car of $300, making it affordable
for relatively low income group. Back two decades ago there were only few instititutions who
were providing higher education on graduate and post graduate level. Situation has
considerably changed, and nuclearization of family work as a catalyst in the regard. For better
future prospects and satisfaction of innate interest people have understood the importance of
education therefore investing hefty amount on their children. It also has a trickledown effect on
the economy producing experts of related field, providing employment, in short becoming
productive sector of economy.

As the trend of nuclear family is increasing there are number of avenues which can be
exploited, for instance in west for every chore there is an home appliance available at a very
nominal cost, unfortunately Pakistan has been introduced to limited home appliances for
example dish washer is very common in west whereas here in Pakistan it is rarely found. So
manufacturing of home appliances can be one the business to enter. Another important
element is that education sector has become wide internationally so education sector can be
expanded by offering different types of degree in performing arts like theatre, drama, dance,
film making and music etc as parent have realized the importance of education in non-
conventional areas and ready to invest in other fields as well. As far as nuclear family structure
is concerned FMCG industry has been the most profitable as it caters to the individual needs of
all the family and it is continuously being exploited to serve the market as it gives greater
returns. Pakistan is far behind in manufacturing industry as compare to india who is producing
cars for $300, if Pakistan can develop its manufacturing sector not only meet the demand but
also result in reducing dependency on international producers.
