“Is Philosophy a Science?”

Many have debated if Philosophy is really a science, but what is it really? Actually in my
perspective at first I really did not care much about Philosophy, because the first thing
that was taught in school is that science is everything, matter is everywhere, but
contemplating more and more as I grow up, and yeah… Philosophy was actually
introduced to me as a really head-aching subject. I actually first heard Philosophy from
my service mate, when he said that his teacher ask them what is a chair, and that’s
where it all started, I became more and more curious about Philosophy, and was
actually looking forward to take Philosophy as one of my subjects, learning knowledge
is fun, but understanding the meaning behind it is much more fun-filled. Is Philosophy a
science? No it is not, Philosophy is much more deeper or much more broader than
science, science from its terminology means knowledge, which means it’s simply
“knowledge”, it stops there, while if we say Philosophy, it is the “love of wisdom,” when
we love something, according to the University of Southern California, “loving what you
do is an overall productivity booster and enhances performance.” which in simple terms
means it gives you motivation to continue, A Scientist always have a definite answer,
while a Philosopher always has a question to an answer, we were always taught,
“curiosity killed the cat,” but I think what makes life more from what it is, is curiosity, if we
only look at the scientific view of things, we are only depending on facts which are
scientifically proven, but if we look at things in a philosophical point of view, we are not
looking straight-forward, rather we are looking at many pathways and looking in many
pathways again. In our discussion of, “What is Philosophy,” one statement states that,
“Philosophy is an open-ended question,” which means, in Philosophy we look at things
in a total world-view, the mind has endless capabilities, if we think that we can do it, we
can do it, just like putting your mind in a world-view, Philosophy is a series of, “What ifs,”
that points out to a question always.
In my conclusion, I would say, Philosophy is neither a Science or a simple subject, but it
is the state of our mind, it is the capacity of our mind, Philosophy can actually be relative
to what the world is , because the world has many mysteries still, it still gives us
questions, “am I really real?, What if there is an alternate universe?, what if?, what
really is?, who am I?” I think I would just say, What really is Philosophy?
