The volume of the Center fuel tank and the flow rate of the ventilation N/A
system must be maintained at values which, when used in the
determination of the fuel tank flammability exposure, comply with the
Flammability Reduction System (FRS) requirements.

A protective coating (Finch paint) is necessary at the connection between AMM

the center fuel tank and the Dual Flapper Check Valves (DFCV) housing of
the Inert Gas Generating System (IGGS) to prevent fuel or fuel vapor leaks 47-20-43-370-801
into an area containing ignition sources.
47-20-43-370-802
After maintenance of the DFCV the protective coating must be restored to

must be permanently stenciled, marked, or placarded to warn of hazards. 25-52-00-400-801
28-12-45-000-801
Warning placards must be installed in the appropriate positions to ensure 28-12-45-400-801
maintenance personnel are aware of areas that may be hazardous 28-12-52-000-801

Flammability reduction system performance is dependent on airplane N/A
descent times. Industry efforts to reduce descent time may result in
Flammability Reduction System performance that does not meet FAA
requirements. Fleet average flammability exposure for the fuel tanks with
flammability reduction system of this airplane type must be maintained in
accordance with 14 CFR Part 25, appendix M.

Airbus will monitor descent statistics (including US descents) and, if

necessary to maintain compliance, will publish service information. If Airbus
publishes such service information, this CDCCL requires that Operators
implement these FAA approved design changes to maintain compliance
with 14 CFR Part 25, appendix M.

Any design change that could reduce the bleed pressure in descent or N/A
could add any heat to the center wing tank or could increase the heat
retention of the center wing tank is not allowed without an FAA approved
analysis to show that the change does not affect the FRS performance per
the requirements of Appendix M to 14 CFR Part 25, Amendment 125.
