B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine shutdown occurred five minutes or more before you do
this procedure.

C. Get access to the avionics compartment.
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at access door 81

(2) Open the access door 811 Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-801.
(3) Unlock and open the protective door of AC/DC emergency power-center 740VU.

(1) Open the fan cowl doors Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-816:
425AL, 426AR.

(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser for maintenance Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-
00-040-826.

G. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust reverser doors Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-805:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE NOZZLE ASSEMBLY IS SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED DURI
NG REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION. THE NOZZLE ASSEMBLY WEIGHS APPROXIMA
TELY 105.82 LB (48 KG). IF IT IS NOT SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED, INJURY TO
PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Exhaust Nozzle Assembly
(1) Remove the applicable attachment fasteners from the specific front flange holes
(2) between the exhaust nozzle (1) and the engine flange (3) to install the nozzle
handle (4). See View E of the figure:

NOTE: The attachment fasteners to be removed to install the nozzle handles (4)
in holes (2) are located from the second to the fourth fasteners above th
e spigot (5) on Left Hand (LH) side and the Right Hand (RH) side.
NOTE: This procedure is the same for the two nozzle handles (4).
NOTE: The nozzle handle holes (2) are located from the second to the fourth fas
teners above the spigot (5) on LH and RH sides.
(a) Carefully put the nozzle handle (4) on the exhaust nozzle (1).
1 Make sure that the jaw (10) is in the open position and the bolt (11) i
s removed.
(b) Put the two pins (12) of the triangular plate into the specific front flange hol
es (2).
(c) Insert the screw (13) inside the trailing edge hole.
(d) Close the jaw (10) and install the bolt (11) on the screw (13).
(3) Removal of the exhaust nozzle
(b) Remove the exhaust nozzle (1) from the engine flange (3).
(4) Install the exhaust nozzle (1) on the EXHAUST TROLLEY (98K7810H007-000). Ref
er to the manufacturer's instructions.
(5) Remove the nozzle handle (4) from the exhaust nozzle (1):
NOTE: This procedure is the same for the two nozzle handles (4).
(b) Open the jaw (10) and extract the screw (13) from the nozzle trailing edge
hole.
(c) Extract the two pins (12) from the specific front flange holes (2).
(d) Remove the nozzle handle (4) from the exhaust nozzle (1).
