3. Job Set-up

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On ENG START control-panel 145VU:
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine
s.
(2) Make sure the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before yo
u do this procedure.
(3) On the ENG section of the maintenance panel 285VU:
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton
switch is off.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FA
DEC system.
(4) On the ENG MASTER control-panel 125VU:
- Make sure that the ENG MASTER switch 1(2) is in the OFF position.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the EC
U.

HE HOLD OPEN ROD IS IN POSITION. SUDDEN CLOSURE OF THE HA
LF-DOOR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-826.
4. Procedure

CAUTION: ENGAGE THE IDG DISCONNECT MECHANISM WITH THE DISCONNECT RES
ET RING BEFORE YOU START THE ENGINE. IF NOT YOU WILL CAUSE DAM
AGE TO THE DOG TEETH, AT ENGINE START.
CAUTION: DO NOT PUSH THE IDG DISCONNECT PUSHBUTTON SWITCH FOR MORE T
HAN 3 SECONDS.
THERE MUST BE AT LEAST 60 SECONDS BETWEEN TWO OPERATIONS OF
THE SWITCH.
THIS IS TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE DISCONNECT SOLENOID WHICH W
ILL BECOME TOO HOT.
A. Operational Check of Integrated Drive Generator Disconnect Function
NOTE: This test is for system 1. For the other system(s), use the indications between t
he parentheses.
NOTE: Two persons are necessary to do the test: one person holds the reset ring while
the other person pushes the IDG pushbutton switch in the cockpit on the ELEC
control-panel 235VU.
(1) Do this test:
