Starry Night is one of the most famous and resonant pieces of art in the world.

It is absolutely
everywhere. It can be seen on mugs, t-shirts, towels, magnets, phone cases etc. Honestly,I
think that sometimes it feels as if the painting’s fame has exceeded that of its creator.

This masterpiece was painted in 1889 when Van Gogh was hospitalized at the asylum of
Saint-Paul-de-Mausole.Unfortunately,during this time the impressionist began to suffer a
vivid and clear hallucination . Consequently, there was a simple tonal shift in his work. The
painting shows swirling clouds forming a perfect circle in a graceful night .This reveals a
contrast between the bright sky and the silence of the village which is supposed to be the
painter's hometown Netherland. If referring to chromatics, then blue dominates the painting,
blending hills into the sky. The little village lays at the base in browns, greys, and blues. Even
though each building is clearly outlined in black, the two-coloured stars in yellow and white
stand out against the sky.

In conclusion, Starry Night is a unmistakable and profound piece of art. The fact that it
resonates with so many people is a testament to how its beauty is timeless and universal.
