Teacher’s The teacher should be able to reply to you within working hours
Availability (7 a.m – 5 p.m) on the day of the course. Contact the lecturer by

Course Description : This course is attempted at assisting students to prepare for their
English proficiency test administered internally at Universitas
Airlangga known as Unair’s ELPT (Universitas Airlangga
English Language Proficiency Test). The focuses of the course is
consequently aimed at improving students competence and
performance examined in Unair’s ELPT namely listening
comprehension, structure and written expression, and reading
comprehension. The three sections in Unair’s ELPT are
practiced intensively in the class room as well as assigned
students to work on independent study outside the classroom. At
the end of the semester, the students are obligued to follow
ELPT administered by Universitas Airlangga Language Center.
Course Objectives : Upon completing this course, students are able to:

 demonstrate a sound listening skills to comprehend the


conversation and talks in English.
 demonstrate understanding and ability to use the
grammar knowledge to solve grammatical problems in
Structure and Written Expression in
 demonstrate a sound reading skills to comprehend the
passages in English.

Delivery Method : Through lectures, discussion forum, and assignments, this class
will give students more opportunity to practice in the areas
examined in ELPT namely listening, grammar, and reading.
Each meeting will be designed to let the students be trained in
one particular section in ELPT. The course outline will act as the
guidance for the students to prepare the practices in advance.
Beginning with a diagnostic test, the result of the test will then
be used to design the practices addressing the students problems
in ELPT.
Attendance : 1. A minimum of 75% of the total number of lectures.
Policy/Protocols of (Permission is given for case of hospitalized, death,
Technological Use activities allowed by the faculty or university). Students
must fill out an attendance list online on e-learning Unair in
every set up meeting.
2. Students must attend examination on the scheduled day.
Technical problems for submission should be reported right
after the deadline (at least 2 days after the exam, not a week
or two after it)
3. Students must submit assignments on the set time (idem)
4. Online meeting links should not be distributed and shared
publicly (only among class members)
5. During online meeting, students should turn on their videos
at the beginning and end of class and during Q & A session.
Online Classroom : 1. Students participation during online meeting, online forum
etiquette discussion, and WAG discussion, etc is highly
recommended.
2. No eating and drinking during online class
3. Host will mute all participants during lecture and unmute
them when necessary.
4. Arriving late on the online meeting is allowed up to 20
minutes after the course starts. Technical problems for
joining the class online must be reported immediately
through chat room or WAG.
5. Formal clothing is advised during online lecture.
Evaluation Assessment on this course should derive from the following
activities:
1. Assignments on the scheduled topic and participation in the
forum discussion.
2. Quizes
3. Mid-term examination.
4. Final-term examination.
