DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

MY ANOTHER PARENT AT SCHOOL

In Hindu and Balinese Culture, we know Catur Guru, or four teachers that we must
respect and follow. Now, I want to tell you about a great principal that lead Junior High School
Three Bangli to its glory. His name is Drs. I Nengah Suardana. He was born on October the 12th,
1964. Unfortunately, he died because an accident in front of his house when he was still 54 years
old.
Late Suardana was a very strict leader. His creative ideas and innovation for the school
made us tired and fed up because when we didn’t follow his rule, we got an educational yet
bizarre punishment. He also got spicy mouth, he got angry easily and not afraid to spit out some
mean words to us. And the funny thing is many of my teachers move to others school because of
his attitude. He was a nightmare for bad students at that time.
But because of his strictness and innovations, Junior High School Three Bangli got many
avhievements. And we were happy of course. We proud to have a great headmaster like Late
Suardana.
When he got a motorcycle accident in front of his house, I was shock. He always said that
he was a strong guy and got many accidents but still fine. But this time, it was different. He got a
serious hemorrhage on his head and immediately switch hospital from Bangli Medika Canti
Hospital to Sanglah Hospital. And he couldn’t made it. He died on National Education Day,
2019.
When his death reached my ears, I became frozen. And suddenly I remember all his good
deeds. Like he always tells us many funny stories and tells us about his experience. When he got
some free time, he visited his students house for checking are they going well, or they not
studying at home, etc. And to be honest, I got visited by him too when I was still in my dream.
He was an open book kind of person, and I’m 100% sure that he was an extrovert. He likes to
study and read book. When I came to his house, he proudly told me about his books collection.
And the most unforgettable thing about him was that he told us, his students that he related to us,
and I got tell that too even though he and I was a distant family. Well, when you have a cousin
and your cousin cousin got a nephew, you suddenly became an uncle, and that’s the
explanations.
Until this time, I still remember him and I will never forget him. His laugh, his smile, his
stories made me yearn for it. Rest in peace.
