Learning Objective and Career outcome of Part Time Diploma in Educational and
Vocational Counselling Course

Learning Objectives

The programme aims to achieve the following objectives:


1. To develop an adequate knowledge of guidance and to understand concepts,
principles, stages and process of counselling.
2. To develop counselling skills.
3. To provide knowledge about concepts and approaches of adjustment and
personality.
4. To enable the learner to recognize the effectiveness of different counselling
techniques.
5. To understand meaning, goals, scope and need of educational and vocational
counselling
6. To develop the ability to administer and interpret psychological tests and develop a
case study.

Course Outcomes

1. By the end of the course students will be able to relate counselling theories to
psychological and social issues.
2. The course help to develop understanding and competencies required to counsel
students especially adolescents in schools and in other related settings.
3. Students will able to work as school counsellor/ career counsellor in school,
colleges, career counselling Centres, employment agencies, projects; or may work
with teachers, school administrators, social workers, parents for the benefit of
students.
