Measurements (4)

In this article we are going to con gure current circuits supervision, 2nd Power industry PLC programing
harmonic blocking function and free programmable current curve. (10)
Relaying protection (12)
It is important to control currents circuits. Broken currents circuits lead to Companies (13)
damage current transformer. By using current circuit supervision, we avoid ABB (5)
this damage.
Schneider-electric (6)
Siemens (2)
2nd harmonic blocking function is needed if feeder supplies power
transformer. At connecting time of power transformer there appears Maintenance (5)
magnetizing currents in the network. These currents are 5-10 times of Manuals (2)
nominal current In of power transformer. Because of these big magnetizing News (43)
currents overcurrent protection will trip. This is not correct tripping.
Magnetizing currents have 2nd harmonic. 2nd harmonic can be about 30%
from rst harmonic. By using 2nd harmonic blocking function we can avoid
wrong tripping of overcurrent protection at connecting time of power
transformer.

Free programable current curve is used when standard current curves are
not suitable. In this case we can con gure own current curve. VAMP40
terminal has three free programable curves.

Sequence of the article:

1. Current circuits supervision con guration.

2. Testing of current circuits supervision function.

3. 2nd harmonic blocking function con guration.

4. Testing of 2nd harmonic blocking function.

                                                   Fig. 2

Here:

„Imax> setting“ –current which must be exceed in normal condition

„Imin< setting“ – current which must be not exceeded when current circuit
failure appears In our case to activate current circuit failure, in not
coruppted phase A current should be I>0,8xIn>640 A, and in coruppted
phase, for example phase C, current should be <0.2xIn>160 A (see g.2).

 „Operation delay“ – delay time, t=10 s; after 10 s activates CT supervisor

signal

„CT supervisor event on“ – when activates CT supervisor signal, this event
will be written in event list

„CT supervisor event off“ – when resets CT supervisor signal, this event will
be written in event list

„Fault log“ – here you can check when occured current circuits fault, and
how big currents unbalance was
