Learning outcomes:
I. Achievement outcomes:
- By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to use a specific vocabulary about a certain topic;
- Ss will be able to match the words to the animal word cards;
- Ss will be able to recognize the wild animal homes and describe the animals.
II. Procedure outcomes:
- The Ss will work individually and in pairs;
- The Ss will play a game (guess the wild animal);
- The Ss will match the names of the wild animals to the corresponding word cards;
-The Ss will practice language in a particular context;
- The Ss will practice listening and speaking.

Warm-up: The teacher greets the students, introduces the guest and asks if anybody is absent. (3
minutes).
Activity 1
Aim: - to present and activate the vocabulary of the lesson
- to practise the pronunciation of the words (picture-pronunciation);
Interaction: T-Ss
Time: 10 minutes
Activity 2
Aim: - to provide a stimulating means of practicing the new vocabulary related to the topic
(pronunciation-picture) by playing the ‘guessing game’.
Interaction: Ss-T
Time: 15 minutes
Procedure: T. asks a pupil to come to the front of the classroom and describe an animal of
his/her choice. The rest of the class guesses what it is. Whoever guesses correctly comes to the
front of the classroom and describes the animal of his/her choice.
Materials: animal word cards
Activity 3
Aim: - to produce the new vocabulary
Interaction: T-Ss, S-S
Time: 8 minutes
Procedure: T. reads the instructions and explains the task. T. refers the pupils to the pictures and
ask them to say what they think the song is about (animal homes). T. plays the song. The pupils
listen and complete the task in their notebooks. T. checks their answers.
Materials: coursebook, animal word cards

Activity 4
Aim: - to check listening comprehension
Interaction: T-Ss, S-Ss
Time: 8 minutes
Procedure: T. plays the recording. The pupils listen and follow along. T. plays the recording
again. The pupils listen and sing along.
Materials: -
Activity 5
Aim: - to write about wild animals
Interaction: T-Ss, Ss – T
Time: 9 minutes
Procedure: T. gives a worksheet to the Ss. Ss. have to compare two wild animals. Ss. have to
answer at some questions about the wild animals.
Homework: The Ss are given an exercise as homework. They will have to write a composition
comparing two wild animals. (2 minutes)
