Kuura
by milja uimonen

Kuura (“Frost” in Finnish) is a triangle shawl


worked from back neck down. The shawl is
made of two skeins of luscious merino-silk
Silkbloom Fino. Adding or reducing lace
pattern repeats you can make a small
one-skein shawl with your favorite sock
yarn or a large stole with lace yarn.

Size: Approx. 57.1” / 145 cm wingspan along the edge sts, 25.6” / 65 cm from
cast on along center sts to bind off.
Yarn: Fingering weight yarn 436 yards / 400 m

Shown in: BC Garn Silkbloom Fino (55 % merino, 45 % silk, 218 yards / 200 m per 100 g),
color 14 silver, 2 balls

Gauge: 19 sts = 4” / 10 cm after blocking


Gauge is not crucial but will affect the finished size.

Needles: Size 7 / 4.5 mm, 32” / 80 cm circular needle


Notions: 2 stitch markers, a weaving needle.
