Nourish Your Soul

“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith
in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
1 Timothy 6:10 (NKJV)
The story about “The Love of Money” by Brainly is a nice story and you can get a lot of lessons
from it. I shared this story not only to one friend but I decided to share it to my 5 closest friends.
We shared insights, lessons and reflections to each other. And this is the summary that I get
from our sharing.
We, humans are just pilgrims of this world and we are just stewards of God. Working hard to
save money for living is good but it is much better if we do it in an even and most honest way.
Luke 16:10 telling us that we should be honest and faithful in small things, in that way we can
be honest and faithful in big things.
According to one of my friends, to him, there is no problem when we desire for money. It is
part in our lives that we need to be fruitful and productive in life while still living in this world.
Ellen White said in her writings in Adventist Home that money can be a blessing or a curse.
“Money is not necessarily a curse; it is a high value because if rightly appropriated, it can do
good in the salvation of souls, in blessing others who are poorer than ourselves” (AH 372.1).
Money is not dangerous, what dangerous is when we greed for it for our selfish desires. The
story teaches us that greed leads us to destruction. Money is essential, it is in fact vital. But if
we become ruthless and forget about virtues and principles then definitely it will ruin us.
Money can give us fun but not happiness. Fun is short-term but happiness is long-term.
Remember that when we die, we cannot take everything we have in this world. For dust we
came from, and in dust we shall return. The text is on point. The love of money is the root of all
evil. Always put in mind to don't let the money control our lives.
