Intro:

According to the American Psychological Association there are types of stress such as:
1. ACUTE STRESS
It´s the most common stress and the least harmful to health. This occurs when the person has recently had a
traumatic event or overwhelming moment.
Examples: a car accident, a stressful day at work, problems at home
The symptoms are: mood swings such as anger and sensitivity, anxiety, depression, headache and muscle
pain.
However, this type of stress lasts between three days to a month, that is, it is short-term. As a solution can be
for example, hanging out with friends, making a schedule to organize our times, playing sports, etc.

2. EPISODIC ACUTE STRESS

Here are those people who have acute stress frequently, they are always in a hurry. They take on too many
responsibilities, have too many things on their hands, and cannot organize the amount of self-imposed
demands or pressures that demand their attention.
Examples:

 Having two jobs and not being efficient in each one

 Not reaching the goals of each year
 Buying two things at the same time: a house and a car.
The symptoms are: migraine, hypertension, agitation, bad character and anxiety.
A solution to this involves to look for professional help, which can take several months or maybe do yoga,
dance
3. CHRONIC STRESS
This type of stress is considered the most damaging to health. Due to its duration and the consequences it
generates. Chronic stress occurs when a person never sees the way out of a depressing situation, some types
of chronic stress stem from traumatic childhood experiences that are constantly present
Examples: Lack of money and food at home, having a dysfunctional family.
The symptoms are: suicidal and violent thoughts, depression, nervous breakdown, heart attacks.
That is why it is important that when a person detects the symptoms that I mention in a family member or
friend, they help them by seeking professional intervention and psychotherapeutic treatment.
