Description of the Issue:

Stress is a common psychological and physiological response to challenging
situations. In teenagers, stress can manifest due to various factors, including
academic pressures, social relationships, family dynamics, and personal
expectations. While a certain amount of stress is a natural part of life, chronic or
excessive stress can have detrimental effects on a teen's physical and mental health.

Impact on Teens:

Mental Health: Excessive stress can lead to anxiety, depression, and other
mental health disorders in teenagers. It can manifest as constant worrying,
difficulty concentrating, and mood swings.
Physical Health: Stress can contribute to physical health issues such as
headaches, stomachaches, and sleep disturbances in teens. Long-term stress
can also weaken the immune system.

Relevant Data and Statistics:

● According to the American Psychological Association's 2020 Stress in

America report, teenagers reported higher stress levels than adults, with
academic concerns being a significant stressor.
● The National Institute of Mental Health reports that about 32% of adolescents
have an anxiety disorder.
