Inception of Studio 7 Degree:

The Founder ShadmanSharar Rahman started Studio 7 Degree back in his university life, from
his fondness towards photography. He quoted “I was always keen about photography since
school, and wanted to do something so that people get to know my skills in this field of
work.One day, back in 2014, one of my friends invited me to a birthday program to take photos,
told me that I will also get paid. After my first experience, I knew this would be a nice way to
earn money. I started to experiment with seniors, getting practical life experiences on events such
as weddings, corporates, socials etc. Once I had gathered enough experience, I came up with a
company which provided photography services.”

Marketing and Promotion:

Studio 7 Degree’s founder himself promotes the company through digitally using social media
platforms. Most clients they get are through online so, they do promotions by boosting on
Facebook/Instagram profiles. They also get client through recommendation by other clients.

Company Size:

Studio 7 Degree does not have any permanent employees, the people who work for Studio 7
Degree work on contractual basis.There are 8 team members who have been working with
Studio 7 Degree since 2015. Most of the freelancer photographers who work here are students or
fresh graduates.

Payment or Salary:

The freelancer photographers working for Studio 7 Degree are usually paid per events (extra
payment if they are assigned with some extra task). For example, a photographer is paid 3000 Tk
per event and a videographer is paid 5000 Tk per event. Post production cost is roughly 3000 Tk
(+ - depending on the workflow).

Assets:

The company has an assets worth more than 5-6 lacs BDT. It consists of high-end cameras and
lenses, 2 high-spec computers for post-production works and other necessary equipment’s as
well.
Target Customers

Studio 7 Degree’s target customers are based on Dhaka City. Middle class people who are not
willing to pay a lot of money on photography for events. As Studio 7 Degree is a mid-budget
photography company which has packages starting from 5000 taka it is suitable for the middle
class people who are seeking for low or mid budget photography solutions. Studio 7 Degree
specially does wedding photography but also they cover birthday programs, meetings and
seminars, university events, etc.

Competitors:

The key competitors are Wedding Edge, Bridal Harmony, Memory Lane, Bridal Dream as they
are also mid budget wedding photography startups.

The Market Leaders are Dreamweaver, K.Nasif Photography, Checkmate Events, ArtLand.
These companies are in this field for a long time now, hence they have a huge market popularity
and a big client base.

SWOT Analysis

Type of Business:

Studio 7 Degree is a photography business.

Strengths:

1. The business provides a service that is unique and specific to each customer. It takes
photography into a more artistic direction and less generic direction.

2. Photography is becoming a very big industry. In the society, documentation is becoming very
important to people. What sets this company apart from just documenting events and people is
that the artistic context behind it has evolved a lot.

3. Studio 7 Degree has a very strong sense of purpose. They believe as artists, with that a specific
skill set, it is their duty to use their skills to raise awareness about good photography.
Weaknesses:

1. There is a lot of competition in the photography business and Studio 7 Degree doesn’t
advertise enough.

2. There are always changes in technology and need for improvement in techniques.

3. Potential financial problems could lie in need for newer, better equipment.

Opportunities:

1. There are always new trends in photography. Whether it is the type of photography or on
technique and visual appeal, Studio 7 Degree thinks keeping up with these changes will benefit
their business greatly.

2. There are many markets in photography. Photographers can use photography for print ads,
events, portraits, fashion, and many more. The opportunities are endless. It can be printed and
used as wall art or kept in digital format and used online for advertisement purposes.

3. There is always a new camera, lenses, filter, apps (http://www.instagram.com), computers, and
software (http://www.photoshop.com) that can be utilized to improve quality of work.

Threats:

1. Some of the competitors really get themselves out there. They take classes to improve
technique and learn new ones. They advertise to anyone and everyone and continue to build their
portfolio. Some already have a great reputation and online presence.

2. Main obstacles are in changing trends and a lot of competition.

3. There is a constant need to update the technology and that can be very costly.

HR Department:

Studio 7 Degree does not have any separate HR Department as there is no permanent employee
in his company. Basically The Founder ShadmanSharar Rahman manages the freelancer
Photographers and he likes to refer them as team members of Studio 7 Degree. As there is no
written HR policy they have lost quite a few teammates. There are some HR Policies but they are
verbal for example, those who work underStudio 7 Degree cannot use the photos for self-
promotion. Getting a fair share on profits if a team members can get events on their own. The
founder himself makes most of the calls consulting with my team members.
