You have been hired as an organisational psychologist by the various

companies below to produce a solution for their problem. Using OB
modification, identify the best type of reinforcement along with suggested
interval schedules.
Working in your teams you will produce a short report on each case by 30 th
September. Points are awarded for identifying the correct reinforcement,
providing justification and explanation as well as suggesting a suitable schedule
for delivery.

Case 1: Gillian owns a beauty salon. Only 10% of her client’s rebook in advance
before leaving. She wants to increase this to 50%.
Case 2: Glasgow council wants to reduce the amount of smoke breaks taken by
employees in order to increase productivity.
Case 3: A supermarket has identified a number of vehicle owners using their
carpark all day without using the shop. How can they prevent this from
occurring?
Case 4: An accountancy firm has noticed that staff performance declines after
the end of each financial year for 3 months. How can they address this?
