Q. What would be the advantages and disadvantages to Jennifer’s company of routinely

administering honest tests to all its employees?

prone employees? How exactly could these techniques be used?

Through pre screening tools honesty test have been shown to eliminate theft and reduce

turnover. Most of the organizations handover this problem to security agency to solve this out.

The company can ensure that if savings from reduced theft would make up for the cost of an

outside agency. As the job preview, they must communicate that the jobs they are offering in

their company are worth keeping and dishonesty and theft will not be tolerated. And they have to

give their employee bonuses to reduce turnover. Further organization approaches in regards to

theft should be clearly communicated to new employees.


Q. How should her company terminate employees caught stealing and what kind of

procedure should be set up for handling reference calls about these employees when they

go to other companies looking for jobs?

The way they should handle workers that are found stealing will terminate instantly and include

the proper authorities and it should only be done when they have valid proof of theft. This kind

of action will also send message to other employees in the company. While many employers are

unwilling to act against employees for theft, developing evidence from police and through the courts

can be beneficial for the individual with honest and accurate information.
