COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) is a world wild pandemic in which almost all the

countries are affected. Pakistan is also the part of this ongoing worldwide pandemic of
COVID-19.  The official data (around 108500 cases) showed that new cases in the country
are rising day by day and pointing out a critical situation ahead. The following factors are
very important to cater this pandemic situation.
Factors are:
Convenience: To avoid spread of this COVID-19 pandemic, the main point is social
distancing and stays in home. But it’s impossible to shut all the country and wait till
pandemic ends. So the government should come forward and do their best to provide all the
basic facilities like education, health and basic needs to their door steps. Due to this
convenience the people will also react positively and they will stick to their home.
Courtesy: The Threat of COVID-19 is still present. Until we have vaccine or we learn to
handle this virus impact we need to do physical distance ourselves and also use personal
protective measure like masks, gloves and frequently washing hands. This will change our
social behavior as communities to find how safety reacts. These social measures feel
awkward and at time impolite, but you are not alone in feeling that way about them and
everyone is learning and figuring this out as we go.
Responsiveness: Before and even now, whenever patients visit to doctor, they not only
come with a disease but also with a lot of expectations (treat with respect and dignity, will be
trustworthy and maintain privacy). Nowadays we have been hearing many allegations against
doctors from COVID-19 patients which are medical negligence and denial to provide medical
services which lose trust and they didn’t follow their instruction and safety measure which
results in increase number of cases.
Doctors should maintain cordial relationship with their patients who help in building their
trust and in response they will follow safety measures which help in reducing of cases.
Tangibility: Like many other countries, Pakistan government is experimenting many types of
lockdown in all over the country (from full lockdown to smart lockdown for different
duration) to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Investment in healthcare infrastructure and
services has also been undertaken. But our health care system is in worse in South Asia and
it’s impossible to cater a large number of patients. Some good initiatives were taken from
government and keen to establish fully equipped wards (Ventilators, oxygen cylinders, PPE
Kits etc.).
Pakistan government also coming up with innovative smart solutions and exploring the use of
technology to create awareness, mitigate the risks and contain the shock created by such
pandemics. To promote public knowledge government regularly send an SMS to encourage
people to wash hands and practice social distancing. Also the government changes the
ringtones with an awareness message to the caller about the danger of COVID-19 and
hopefully these all will help to reduce the number of cases in Pakistan.
