It is a Thursday today and I decided to call my dad on the phone tonight after his
work. Ever since he got his job back, I am not able to ask him how he is doing. Even if I
wanted to catch up with him, I always find excuses not to call, because I might disturb
him or he might be too tired, but this experience is very memorable and heart-warming
for me. It made me appreciate my dad more. Despite the pandemic, he chose to work
hard for our family to live a comfortable life and also for me and my siblings to be able to
enroll online. I don’t usually think I miss him when he is not around but hearing his tired
voice over the phone affected me a lot and made me miss him. I am relieved though,
because my dad assured me that he is healthy and doing fine. However, it was difficult
for me to say some things I wanted to say over the phone because I am not the type of
daughter who voices out her feelings well to her parents. Maybe soon, God can give me
the courage to say “thank you”, “sorry” and “I love you” to my father. Sometimes I feel
that my relationship with my dad is strained, but I want to resolve that little by little by
easing into conversations and trying to call him more often.

In the Bible, the Church is not a cold building made of stone, it is a group of warm
and loving people specially chosen by God. I believe that this activity is relevant to
being Church as it emphasizes how we need to have strong sense of fellowship. I
believe that in being Church, all we need to do is to keep our eyes, ears and hearts
open to the people around us, to make an effort and show them love in any way that we
can.
