Subject: Emotions Encoded

A tele-romantic dialogue, activated by the visitor, is displayed on a computer screen,

which is placed within a generic workplace. The ‘docu-drama’, based on the artist’s
own experience, presents a model of communication between two strangers meeting
on-line. The dialogue poetically expresses the initial encounter, the deepening
relationship, and the conflict, which arises between the textually ‘encoded’ desire
and the non-physicality of the interaction. The emotional intensity of the exchange is
accentuated by the choreography of a computer-animated butterfly.
