Solfege and Hand Signs for Singers

Introducing … solfege & hand signs!

As singers, we use this pattern all of the time.


Do you notice how they go up and down?


When you sing them, your voice goes up and
down too!


This whole pattern has a
fancy name:

major scale

You can memorize the order
of the syllables and the Eventually, you’ll learn how to connect
handsigns, and sing the scale these to the musical staff – it follows the
up and down! same pattern as that the musical
alphabet , with C D E F G A B:
You remember those lines and spaces on
the staff? You put this pattern on the
scale – don’t skip any lines or any spaces!

(You can play the scale on a keyboard
too!)
