Standard 15: Information and Communication

The objective is to develop such information and communication which will provide access to the
external and internal stakeholders about the college, available programs, career opportunities and
alumni, notifications, and students progress.

SWOT Analysis of Information and Communication system.


Strengths:

 The institute has dynamic website for accessing information regarding new programs, results,
notifications, and alumni.
 The institute has active social media account.
 The institute has skillful, creative, and flexible information technology personal.
 Networking has been carried out in all Labs to help students share information.
 Special course leaflets are designed every year regarding new programs.
 An institute has a dynamic Prospectus.
 Main notice board is also used to share the latest information with staff and students.
 Communication with the staff and students/parents has been improved by introducing SMS
system.

Weaknesses:

 Students attendance is not communicated digitally.


 Limited availability of internet. Due to the poor internet connection internet availability cannot
be ensured in entire institute.
 No access to digital library. The library is not equipped with the computer system and internet
facility.

Opportunities:

 Develop information and communication system in each department to digitize their inventory,
labs, stationary.
 Staff of the institute is well aware of information technology and social media, which benefits
the institute in promotion purposes.
 There is no other government institute of such level and resource in the region.
 Variety of programs are offered in the institute.
 There is no private institute which such resource and diversity in programs.
 The institute is situated in densely youth populated area.

Threats:

 Lake of personal to carry out IT related functions in institute.


 The people of the region are not used to social media and are dependable on print media.
 Advertising and access to the people situated in far hilly area is difficult.
 Due to limited industry in the region the youth are not motivated enough.
