PURPOSE OF STUDY

The main purpose of this study is to investigate Impact of Information Communication


Technology on Business Education Students' Academic Performance in Public Universities,
Ekiti State, Nigeria.

The objective to achieve the purpose of the study are stated below:

1. To Assess the Level of ICT Integration:

Investigate the extent to which Information Communication Technology (ICT) is currently


integrated into the Business Education programs offered by public universities in Ekiti State,
Nigeria.

2. To Examine the Accessibility and Utilization of ICT Resources:

Explore how Business Education students access and utilize ICT resources for their academic
activities, assessing the effectiveness of existing channels and tools.

3. To Analyze the Correlation between ICT Use and Academic Performance:

Establish the correlation between the utilization of ICT tools and resources and the academic
performance of Business Education students, providing insights into the impact of technology on
educational outcomes.

4. To Identify Challenges Hindering Effective ICT Integration:

Identify and critically examine the challenges and barriers that impede the seamless integration
of ICT within Business Education programs, aiming to understand the constraints faced by
students, faculty, and administrators.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS:

1. To what extent is Information Communication Technology (ICT) integrated into Business


Education programs in public universities in Ekiti State?
2. How do Business Education students access and utilize ICT resources for their academic
activities?
3. What is the correlation between the use of ICT tools and the academic performance of Business
Education students?
4. What challenges hinder the effective integration of ICT in Business Education programs?

RESEARCH HYPOTHESES:

Main Hypothesis: There is a significant relationship between the integration of Information


Communication Technology (ICT) and the academic performance of Business Education
students in public universities in Ekiti State.

Operational Hypotheses:

1. H₀: There is no significant correlation between the extent of ICT integration and academic
performance among Business Education students. H₁: There is a significant correlation between
the extent of ICT integration and academic performance among Business Education students.
2. H₀: There is no significant association between the accessibility and utilization of ICT resources
and the academic performance of Business Education students. H₁: There is a significant
association between the accessibility and utilization of ICT resources and the academic
performance of Business Education students.
