CH2M 4th Comment
1200 mm walkway with hand rail around the tank is required to remove algae and
other debris from weir, launder and surface of clarifier. This is done twice a week.
The arrangement suggested by Contractor is not workable.
Contractor is required to rehabilitate and upgrade the existing structure
(rehabilitate existing primary treatment but in very bad conservation situation Refer
Clause 2.3.1 of Volume 2 Technical Specification) Design Life of
rehabilitated/upgraded structure should confirm to as specified in Clause 1.1.4 of
Volume 2 Technical Specification

CH2M 5th Comment (12 Nov):

Not providing so is deviation to tender requirement. The wait will be very long
(approx. 2.5 hrs) from O & M point of view and emergency if any. The speed of
rotating bridge is 0.039 RPM as per mechanical GA-C- 1624-01- ME- DWG-1001-05.
During MIDC meeting it was discussed to provide multiple platforms for
maintenance of Primary clarifier.

Please do not delete the comments. As per 15 Nov meeting at Taloja MIDC office,
contractor to provide walkway for primary clarifier phase-I as per NIT.

CH2M 6th Comment (18 Nov):

The surface loading rate of proposed deign is more than
35 m3/m2/d (As given in NIT) which is not acceptable. Also, check the weir loading
rate.
Contractor to go with already approved drawing in R2. Comments on RCC drawings
submitted on 19th Nov follows.

The current SOR is 35.4 m3/m2/d which is more than NIT, but as the structure is
existing this is acceptable. As per NIT Walkway width shall be of 1200 mm, although
due to construction and space constraint the proposed walkway of 1000 mm is
accepted.
Please check velocity in sludge pipe as it very low. (~0.05m/s).

KDC-AQUA Reply on 3rd comment:
Please note that, we have submitted existing drawing of primary clarifier
for reference. Proposed civil explains the possible modification in
existing structure.
Extension of top of wall for PU wheel shall be provided up to Closed
400 mm. 1200 mm walking platform around the tank is not possible for
construction since the tank is existing.

1. Please note that this is existing structure of more than 20 years old.
extension of platform on current structure is not feasible.

Kindly note that provision of 1200mm walkway is not possible for this
existing structure. This has been discussed and cleared during MIDC
meeting

For access to tank, we are providing RCC stair with standing platform. Closed
For access Operator need to wait till mechanism reaches to standing
platform. then he has to climb the scraper mechanism platform.
Since existing wall thickness is 250 mm only, to rotate the mechanism
with PU wheel, we are increasing the wall thickness at top on both side
by 75 mm. (total width of wall at top is 400 mm) This is marked in the
drawing already.

There is no change in Drawing, we submitted last revision

Since, tank is old, sludge pipe below cannot be replaceable. Outside,
pump suction maintain the velocity for sludge flow.
