Definition of terms

Appearance. It refers to the physicality of the being or matter in the perspective of others.

Carbohydrate. It refers to the nutrients that can be broken down to give energy to the body.

Consumers. It refers to the person who purchases goods and services for personal use.

Dehydration. It refers to the process of extracting the moisture out of the specimen.

Desensitized. This refers to the condition wherein the body or tongue is deprived of its sensitivity to

either of the five senses.

Diabetes. It refers to the disease occurs when the blood sugar of a person is too high.

Dietary substitute. It refers to the alternate of food (often healthier).

Dieters. It refers to the people practicing a planned and controlled diet for health purposes. 

Equal ®. This refers to a brand of artificial sweetener containing aspartame.

Low caloric properties. This refers to a lesser calorie than the suggested calorie consumption.

Natural sugar. It refers to the sugar that is found naturally in food such as fructose and lactose milk.

Non- nutritive substances. It refers to substances used instead of sugars to sweeten foods.

Pulverization. It refers to the process of grinding a substance turning it from coarse to a more refined

texture.

Saccharine. This refers to the sugar substitutes that are used to sweeten food without the calories of

real sugar.

Sucralose. It refers to an unreal sweetener and sugar substitute.

Sucrose. This refers to a compound that is the main component of beet and cane sugar.

Splenda®. It refers to a brand name of a certain artificial sweetener and many other sugars.

Steeping. This refers to the process of soaking food or tea in water or other liquid to extract its flavor or

to soften it.

Stevia plant. It refers to a composite herb whose leaves are source of non-caloric sweetener.
