I.
1. What is Mathematics?
- Mathematics is a language of numbers which we use everywhere and every day. It is
already part of our daily lives, wherever we may be, whatever situation we may have,
we are surrounded by numbers.
2. Our language is algebra: state the rule of
 Addition – states the probability of two events is the sum of the probability that
either will happen minus the probability that both will happen.
 Subtraction - when adding a positive number and negative number together, use
subtraction by taking the absolute value – the numbers without their signs – and
subtract the smaller from the larger. Then give the answer the sign of the larger
number.
 Multiplication – If events A and B come from the same space, the probability that
both A and B occur is equal to the probability that A occurs times the probability
that B occurs, given A is occurred.
 Division – If the last digit in a number is 0 or an even number, it is divisible by 2.
Number that ends in an even digit can be divided into two evenly. However,
numbers that end in odd digits can be divided by two, they’ll just have a
remainder of decimal.
3. What is coordinate system?
- Is a method for identifying the location of a point on the earth. Most coordinate
systems use two numbers, a coordinate, to identify the location of a point. Each of
these numbers indicates the distance between the point and some fixed reference
point, called the origin.
4. What is intercept?
- The distance from the origin to a point where a graph crosses a coordinate axis.
5. What is Linear equation?
- An equation that may be put in the form where are the variables, and are the
coefficients may be considered as parameters of the equation, and may be arbitrary
expressions, provided they do not contain any of the variables.
6. Examples of an ordered pair
- (1, 2) and (-4, 12)
- (x, y) = (7, -2) means x=7 and y= -2

II. SELF INTRODUCTION

I am Maricel M. Onal, single mom and currently working full time in a BPO
Company while studying at the same time. My goal is to be able to finish college
in the year 2021. I expect to learn more of things that we could apply on our daily
lives and I expect to gain more knowledge even if there were a lot of changes and
adjustment brought by this pandemic. I will do my best to learn more by doing
advance reading if there will be enough time and my goal is to be able to submit
required activities on time and get a good score. I will attend video conferences
and try to cope up whenever there are times that I am behind with the discussion.
