Subject: Call for Proposals to hold 8th Variety Evaluation Committee (VEC) Meeting on Maize,
Sorghum, Millet and Fodder Crops

Variety Evaluation Committee (VEC) meeting is a regular activity of the Plant Sciences
Division, PARC in which adaptability performance of the candidate variety(s) and hybrid(s) of
maize, sorghum, millet and fodder crops are discussed by the committee technical experts. The
candidate variety(s)/hybrid(s) are recommended for approval by the National Seed Councils
(NSC) and registration with Federal Seed Certification & Registration Department (FSC&RD)
for their general cultivation in the country. The subject meeting is planned to be held by the end
of October 08, 2020 at Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), Islamabad. Member
(Plant Sciences Division), PARC/Chairman (VEC) will preside over the meeting.
You are therefore, requested to kindly prepare your proposal(s) of your variety(s)/
hybrids(s) according to below given format and send twenty (20) copies of each proposal to
this office latest by September 28, 2020 at sharp 11 o’clock as we have to dispatch the copies to
the VEC Members on the same day, this is worth mentioning that this VEC will cover all the
cases for Kharif & Spring Seasons of Maize, Sorghum, Millet along with Fodder Crops of
Rabi Season. Your timely response in this regard will help us to conduct the subject meeting on
time. It may be noted please that the proposals not prepared under following guidelines and those
received after the cut-off date & time will not be included in the forthcoming VEC.
