THE ADVENTURE OF TOM SAWYER

1. The adventure of Tom Sawyer is a novel written by Mark Twain. It’s about a young
boy name Tom Sawyer who lived in a village alongside Mississippi River.
Occasionally Tom goes on an adventure with his friend Huckleberry Finn. The novel
tells us a lot of Tom’s adventures in the village , including witnessing a murder ,
being stuck in a cave and finding treasures.

2. CHARACTERS & CHARACTERISTICS

 Tom Sawyer
Tom Sawyer is the main character of the story. He is mischievieous but also
really clever. He is brave and loves to go on an adventure. He is also a good-
hearted person.

 Aunt Polly
Aunt Polly is Tom Sawyer’s aunt. She is Tom’s mother sister. She took care of
Tom after his mother died. She has such a compassionate heart. She is caring
and kind. Despite that she is a bit controlling.

 Huckleberry Finn
Huckleberry Finn is Tom Sawyer’s bestfriend. He is homeless , motherless
and his father always drank whiskey. Huck is courageous and likes to go on an
adventure with Tom. Other than that , all the mothers in the village hates him
and describe him as lazy and always use bad language. He is admired by the
children in the village.

 Injun Joe
Injun Joe is the main antagonist of the story. He is a Spanish man with long
white hair. He was part of the grave robbers. He is ruthless and selfish. He
always wants to seek revenge. He barely cares about other people and he just
wants to get what he wants.

 Muff Potter
Muff Potter is Injun Joe’s friend. He was part of the grave robbers. He is very
kind and considerate too. He likes to help children around the village

 Dr. Robinson
Dr Robinson is one of the grave robbers who wants to use dead bodies for
research. He was murdered by Injun Joe. He was selfish considering he didn’t
help Muff Potter when he needed food and that he didn’t want to give Muff
and Injun Joe extra money.

 Becky Thatcher
Becky Thatcher is Tom Sawyer’s friend ,classmate , and Tom’s love interest.
She has blonde hair and blue eyes. She is kind and friendly.
  Joe Harper
Joe Harper is Tom Sawyer’s best friend. Joe went to Jackson’s Island with
Tom and Huck.

 Ben Rogers
Ben Rogers is Tom Sawyer’s friend. He helped Tom paint the fence white. He
gave Tom his apples so he can paint the fence.

 Bill Welsh
Bill Welsh is a man who live near Widow Douglas’s house. He is a nice man.
He and his sons helped Huck when Injun Joe is about to kill Widow Douglas.

 Injun Joe’s Accomplice

This is a man who helped Injun Joe hide the silver and gold coins in the cave.
He works for Injun Joe. He is described as short and he wears dirty old
clothes.

 The Revender
The Revender is a man who works in the church. He teaches Tom in Sunday
school.

 The Lawyer
The Village lawyer who calls Tom in Muff’s trial. He is wise and fair.

3. The conflict in the story is when Tom and Huck finds out about the treasure. Both
Tom and Huck really want to get the treasure but in the other hand a man who they’re
really afraid of ( Injun Joe ) have the treasure and hides it. Tom and Huck are
struggling to get the treasure from the man who not long a go murder another person.

4. The part that interest me the most is when Tom , Huck , and Joe went to Jackson’s
island and prank the entire village. I thought it was so interesting that three young
boys can pull such a great prank. It was so hilarious. I also like the part where Injun
Joe killed Dr Robinson , because I didn’t expect that a children book have murder in
it. I didn’t think the fight between Muff and Dr Robinson would end up in murder.
