Objectives:
a. Establish a peer-based education program in school that promotes health and prevent drug
abuse through Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD)

b. Provide comprehensive information and procedures on BKD management.

c. Plan for project and activities that will encourage a healthy and drug-free l lifestyle.

d. Promote interactive learning activities that will empower, develop leadership, potentials and
increase the self-esteem of the learners.

RATIONALE

Pursuant to School Division Memorandum No. 38,s. 2019 entitled “ Schools Division
Leadership Seminar on Drug Abuse and Prevention For Supreme Student Government Officers
and Advisers”. The KinabuksanIntegrated School will conduct a Re-Echo seminar entitled
“Barkada Kontra Droga Para sa Kinabukasan” that focused on developing the leadership skills
among SSG Officers to lead the students to drug abuse control.

This school-based leadership seminar aims to enlist participation of all students and
eventually organize them into a movement of young people who are catalysts within peer groups
in advocating a healthy drug-free lifestyle and raising public awareness and giving students
realistic information adapted to their developmental stage about drug prevention strategies.

Pursuant to School Division Memorandum No. 38,s.2018 entitled “ Schools Division


Leadership Seminar on Drug Abuse and Prevention For Supreme Student Government Officers
and Advisers. The one-day seminar conducted focused on developing the leadership skills among
SSG officers for drug abuse control and leadership skills program of the school.

In view of this, I would like to request your good office to allow us to conduct a Re-Echo
Seminar entitled “School-Based Leadership-Seminar on Drug Abuse and Prevention for
Supreme Student Government and High School Students” to be conduct on February 24, 2020.

The said school-based leadership seminar aims to enlist participation of all secondary
students and eventually organize them into a movement of young people who are catalysts within
their peer groups in advocating a healthy drug–free life style and raising public awareness and
giving students the realistic skills and potential of being a leader .

NARRATIVE REPORT

The Philippine President, Rodrigo R. Duterte campaigns about the


prohibition of using illegal drugs to alleviate the crime rate in the country. He thought
that illegal drugs is the main cause why people do crimes resulting violation of law.
Through the cooperation of DepEd and Philippine National Police, Strengthening the
National Drug Education Program was established.
The Department of Education strictly followed the guidelines in drug-
related policies of the government by establishing the curricula aligned with the
Dangerous Drug Board Program. All Secondary Schools in private or public shall abide
with these policies. The joint force of DDB and DepEd to initiate a campaign and to
educate the students against the illegal use of drugs and its other forms. For the students
are the future leader and more vulnerable in the society.

In compliance with Schools Division Memorandum No.38,s. 2018 entitled “


School Division Leadership Seminar on Drug Abused and Prevention for Supreme
Student Government Officers and Advisers”, the Kinabuksan Integrated School with 150
Students participants from Elementary to Senior High School joined the event last
February 24,2020.

The SSG Officers with their SSG Adviser Ma’am Fatima L. Apilado initiated the
program together with National Drug Education Program Coordinator, Ma’am Judy Ann
S. Herreria. Participants signed the attendance during the seminar.

SSG Adviser Ma’am Fatima Apilado started the event by explaining the Barkada
Kontra Droga Program of DepEd. Other faculty members joined the event, Dr.Euman F.
Parong discussed about the Republic Act # 9165 known as Comprehensive Dangerous
Drug Act of 2002, Sir Francis Pabayo , a registered nurse and Science Teacher discussed
the Drug Abuse and Inhalant Abuse and Sir Ian Dela Cruz discussed the classification of
drugs like Shabu,Marijuana and Alcohol Addiction. Sir Jerick R. Cedon, the guest
speaker from Aningway Annex Elem.School, explained about Leadership Skills to the
students.
Speakers were given Certificate of Appreciation for giving their time and effort
to make the event successful. Lunch and meriendas was served by the SSG Officers with
guidance of refreshment committee member, Ma’am Mylene B. Bausas. The program
ended with the Closing Remarks given by NDEP Coordinator,Mam Judy Ann S.
Herreria.
