NARRATIVE REPORT ON SCHOOL-BASED EARTHQUAKE AND FIRE DRILL

A tremendous amount of energy released, and travels in the form of vibrations, such surface,
such surface tectonic earthquake. The point of origin of the earthquake is called the focus, while
the point directly above it on the surface of the earth is called epicenter.
November 5,2018-4th quarter, Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.

The Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) is quarterly National Disaster


Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) , Led activity that seek to educate the
public on disaster preparedness against earthquakes, showcase government capability on disaster
response and test the contingency plans of local disaster risk reduction and management
councils.

Since the earthquake occurs frequently in the Philippine the Department of Education
Division of Occidental Mindoro initiated a program of earthquake and fire drill. In view of this
Kalinisan Minority School held an earthquake drill on November 5, 2018, 2.00 in the afternoon,
it was participated by 60 pupils from kinder and Grade one to Grade six and 6 Teachers.

The NDRRMC School Coordinator instructed first to go to grade v-vi classroom to have
the information and dissemination about an earthquake through Video presentation. The duck,
cover and hold presentation , then everybody in the classroom ducked and covered themselves
under their armchairs and table.I assigned teacher to make a an earthquake signal.After a minute
the teachers lead them heading to the designated open area as stated in the evacuation plan,
walk casually covered with books and hands on their head there was no debris are to fall and no
soil erosion and landslide.. It was on the center of our school compound near the flag pole. Then
i did a head count to make sure all pupils are accounted for.

The drill was successfully implemented and nobody injured because the activity run
smoothly according to plan.
