Note: In this document, we shall be covering the Government schemes which are related to the
sectors forming a part of the ESI Syllabus. We shall also cover those schemes which might be not
directly linked to the syllabus but stand a chance to appear in the examination.

The schemes pertaining to the Agriculture and Rural Sectors have been covered in a separate
document. Some of the schemes maybe common, like they may be coming under a ministry
concerned with the topic mentioned in the ESI syllabus and also catering to the Rural sector. So, they
have been included in both the documents to avoid confusion.

We shall be covering the schemes grouped into 5 parts:

Part 1- Schemes related to Employment Generation (including social security schemes), Skill
Development, Financial Inclusion and Information Technology (IT)

Part 2- Schemes related to Health and Education

1 Saubhagyavati Scheme
Launched By: Madhya Pradesh
Aim: To provide electricity to poor people
Key Features:
• The poor people will have to pay a fixed amount every month for electricity.
• Using of power will not affect the monthly electricity bills.

2 Sarana Balyam Scheme


Launched By: Kerala
Aim: To rescue children from child labour and begging.

3 Bhamashah Swasthya Bima Yojana


Launched By: Rajasthan
Aim: It is a health insurance scheme which aims to provide quality healthcare for the state’s citizens
Key Features:
• It is a cashless scheme that provides financial security against various medical threats faced by
poor families in Rajasthan.
• This scheme is primarily designed for the benefit of people living in rural areas.
• This insurance cover ensures that the overall health status of the state is improved through
effective measures.
• The insured can obtain treatment benefits up to Rs.30,000 for general illnesses and Rs.3 lakh
for critical illnesses.

4 One Family, One Job


Launched By: Sikkim
Aim: To provide one government job for every family in the state.

5 Mukhyamantri Yuva Swabhiman Yojana


Launched By: Madhya Pradesh
Aim: To provide employment for youth
Key Features:
• The scheme guarantees 100 days of employment every year to urban youths from
economically weaker sections (EWS).
• The youth would get Rs 4,000 stipend per month and total Rs 13,500 for the 100 days period
would be provided.
• During this period, they would be given skill development training, so that they become
independent.
• The scheme defines Economically weaker sections as those whose family’s annual income is
less than Rs 2 lakh and the scheme is limited to youth in the age group 21-30 years.

6 Tell Didi (Didi Ke Bolo)

Aim: To provide a platform for the people of West Bengal to directly lodge concerns or complaints
to the state chief minister
7 Mo College Programme
Launched By: Odisha
Aim: To promote and facilitate volunteers to give back to Alma Maters (the university, school, or
college that one formerly attended)

8 Vhali Dikri Yojna


Launched By: Gujarat
Aim: To improve the sex ratio of girl child in the state to achieve gender equality
Key Features:
• It is a statewide cash incentive scheme for every girl child born in Gujarat.
• The State Government will pay:
(i) Rs. 4,000 to every girl child at the time of admission to Standard 4th,
(ii) Rs. 6,000 at the time of taking admission to Standard IX,
(iii) Rs. 1-lakh at the time of taking admission for higher education at the age of 18 and
(iv) Rs. 1-lakh at the time of marriage.

9 Mission Shakti
Launched By: Maharashtra
Aim: To train athletes from tribal areas for international sports events such as Olympics.
Key Features:
• The mission is directed towards 6 sporting disciplines namely- archery, shooting, volleyball,
swimming, weightlifting and gymnastics.
• It will help Maharashtra government to hunt for talented athletes in remote areas of
Chandrapur and Gadchiroli.
• International-quality facilities will be provided with a view to increase our medal tally in
Olympics.

10 Village Volunteers System


Launched By: Andhra Pradesh
Aim: It aims at providing government services at doorsteps of people
Key Features:
• Basic idea behind implementing scheme is to infuse confidence among people in government
and to see that their basic needs are met at their door-steps.
• Village secretariats would be set up in each village to deliver governance to people in 72 hours.
• The scheme will involve more than 2.8 lakh volunteers. Under it, 1 volunteer will cover 50
families in each village. Identity cards will be given to each volunteer and they would get an
allowance of Rs.5000 per month.
• Volunteers will 1st identify beneficiaries, get to know their problems, and then describe and
outline schemes being provided by government for them.
• Toll-free telephone number 1902 would be set up at call centre in Chief Minister Office (CMO)
to receive grievances of people.

11 Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana (MGSSBY)
Launched By: Punjab
Aim: To provide health insurance to the poor people
Key Features:
• Punjab government has launched MGSSBY for poor by clubbing Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Jan
Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) plan with its own.
• With launch of this scheme, Punjab has become 1st state to offer medical insurance for such
a large proportion of its population.

12 Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana


Launched By: New Delhi
Aim: To provide free coaching to SC/ST students in preparation for examinations conducted by
UPSC, DSSSB, SSC, Railway Recruitment Board and others.

Recent Update: On 3rd September, the Delhi cabinet has given approval to include students of Other
Backward Caste (OBCs) and general category in the Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana and
also to increase the financial assistance from Rs 40,000 to Rs 1 lakh for coaching of competitive
examinations.

13 Pasupu-Kumkuma Scheme
Launched By: Andhra Pradesh
Aim: To provide financial assistance to women victims, registered with Self Help Groups (SHGs)
Key Features:
• The primary objective of the scheme is to promote the social and economic empowerment of
women in the state.
• Under this scheme, the beneficiaries of SHGs Groups will be provided with Rs. 10,000 in three
phases.
• The beneficiaries are also provided with a smartphone to enable them to avail government
services on a digital platform.

14 Mukhya Mantri Vriddha Pension Yojana


Launched By: Bihar
Aim: To provide pension to poor people above 60 years of age in the state.
Key Features:
• Poor people above 60 years of age will get Rs 400 per month and those above 80 years will get
Rs 500 per month.
• The scheme will not cover retired government employees.

15 Ama Ghare LED


Launched By: Odisha
Key Features:
• Under the scheme, about 95 lakh families in the State will each get four LED bulbs free of cost.

• Under the scheme, 9-watt LED bulbs will be distributed to the beneficiaries registered under
the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and the State Food Security Scheme (SFSC).
• Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (OPTCL) will implement the scheme and the bulbs
will be distributed through camps and PDS outlets across the State.

16 Madhu Babu Pension Yojana Scheme


Launched By: Odisha
Aim: To improve the social security of old age, widows and handicapped people who receive a very
low income to make their living.
Key Features:
• The applicants up to 79 years would receive a pension amount of Rs. 300 every month.
• The applicants above 80 years of age would receive a pension amount of Rs. 500 every month.
• The recipients receive the amount on 15th of every month to the respective bank account.

17 Chullah Free and Smoke Free Maharashtra


Launched By: Maharashtra
Aim: It aimed at providing smoke-free environment in the kitchen for women.
Key Features:
• The scheme will target the women who have not benefited under the Ujjwala or any other LPG
distribution scheme.
• The pilot project will be implemented in Naxal- affected areas as well as the districts where
farmer suicide rate is high.

18 Jal Amrutha Scheme


Launched By: Karnataka
Aim: To make people aware of the importance of conserving water and to prompt them to come up
with ways to avoid wastage of water.
Key Features:
• Under the scheme, state government aims to rejuvenate 14,000 waterbodies and building
12,000 check dams in next 2 years.
• Karnataka government has also declared 2019 as the Year of Water.

19 Atal Aahar Yojana


Launched By: Maharashtra
Key Feature:
• Under the scheme, construction workers will be provided nutritious food at their workplace
for just Rs 5.

20 Mukhya Mantri Karigar Sahayata


Launched By: Odisha
Aim: To provide financial support every month to boost the morale of Craftsman.
Key Features:
• A senior craftsman will get a monthly allowance of Rs. 800 per month.

• If the age of a craftsman is more than 80 years of age, then he will receive an allowance of Rs.
1,000 per month.
21 Mukhya Mantri Aanchal Amrit Yojana
Launched By: Uttarakhand
Aim: To provide milk at the Anganwadi Centres.
Key Features:
• Under the scheme, 2.5 lakh children at 20,000 Anganwadi Centres in the state will be given
100 ml milk twice a week for free.
• Flavoured, sweet, skimmed milk powder will be made available to the 20,000 Anganwadi
Centres across the state.
• Children under six years of age in every Anganwadi Centres are eligible under the scheme.

22 Yuvashree Arpan Scheme


Launched By: West Bengal
Aim: To provide financial assistance to encourage entrepreneurship among youth in the state.
Key Features:
• Under the scheme, eligible youth will get an assistance of Rs. 1 lakh for setting up new
enterprise.
• The scheme promotes self-employment and creates employment opportunities in different
fields.
• Under this scheme, around 50,000 youth will get assistance to start their business venture.

23 Mukhya Mantri Kaushal Samvardhan Yojana


Launched By: Madhya Pradesh
Aim: To provide skill training programs for youth as per the employment oriented national standards.
Key Features:
• Skill enhancement training programs being conducted by various departments to increase
quality and employment opportunities in training by bringing certification, uniformity.
• Women or men over 15 years of age are eligible under the scheme.

24 Kushal Yuva Program


Launched By: Bihar
Aim: To enhance the employability of the youth of Bihar which would add further value to the various
domain specific training endeavors of the State.

25 Emission Trading Scheme


Launched By: Gujarat
Aim: It aims to create markets for particulate matter, which is globally the single greatest threat to
human life.

26 Mukhyamantri Kirayedar Bijli Meter Yojana


Launched By: Delhi

Key Features:
• Under the scheme, tenants residing in Delhi will avail power subsidy.
• Tenants will get a prepaid meter using rent agreement and current address proof. They will
have to deposit Rs 3000 as a security money.
• They will get a separate power meter through which they can avail subsidised power.

27 Aponar Apon Ghar


Launched By: Assam
Aim: It is a loan subsidy scheme which aims to provide financial assistance on purchase or
construction of the first house for a family.
Key Features:
• The subsidy up to 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees will be provided for loan amounts from five lakh
to 40 lakh rupees.
• This scheme is meant for the loan sanctioned in this financial year.
• The loan should have been sanctioned before March 31, 2019.

28 Abhinandan Education Loan Subsidy Scheme


Launched By: Assam
Aim: It is a loan subsidy scheme which aims to provide financial assistance to students for higher
studies.
Key Features:
• Under the scheme, Assam Government will provide a one-time subsidy of Rs 50,000 to
students who have availed education loan for higher studies.
• The education loan should have been availed from a commercial or regional rural bank
recognized by the Reserve Bank of India.
• The education loan should be of a minimum of Rs 1 lakh.

29 Free Drugs Scheme for 651 Tea Garden Hospital


Launched By: Assam
Aim: The scheme aims to reduce the burden of out of pocket expenditure of tea garden population
and making quality drugs accessible to them.
Key Features:
• The scheme was launched for providing medicines, including 142 essential drugs free of cost
to the hospitals in the state’s tea gardens.
• An amount of Rs 20 crore would be spent every year for the scheme.

30 #10Hafte10Baje10Minute Campaign
Launched By: Delhi
Aim: To fight against dengue
Key Features:
• Delhi CM has appealed to Delhi residents to give 10 minutes every Sunday from September 1
till November 15, to ensure there is no stagnant water in their houses or surroundings to
prevent the breeding of dengue-career mosquitoes.

• After inspecting your home at 10am, call 10 of your friends and encourage them too to inspect
their homes.
31 Champions Campaign
Launched By: Delhi
Aim: To fight against dengue and encourage people’s participation in the campaign.
Key Feature:
• Delhi CM urged people to encourage their friends to inspect their homes on Sunday to clean
stagnant water.

32 Tatpar Mobile App


Launched By: Delhi
Developed By: Delhi Police
Aim: To facilitate delivery of citizen centric services
Key Features:
• Tatpar app is a one-stop destination for access to over 50 citizen-centric services.
• The newly-integrated one-touch mobile app brings together all the websites and mobile
applications of the Delhi Police and over 50 services.
• These services can now be accessed with a single touch in the app.

33 Mukhya Mantri Seva Sankalp Helpline ‘1100’


Launched By: Himachal Pradesh
Aim: To provide timely help to the citizens of the state
Key Features:
• All citizens of the state will be able to resolve their complaints and problems by calling this
helpline.
• The progress of complaints received in the through the helpline will be monitored. Complaints
can be registered on the helpline from 7 am to 10 pm.
• All the officers have to resolve the complaint within seven days to 14 days. If the deadline is
exceeded or the complainant is not satisfied then the problem will be sent to the next level.

34 ‘Jan Soochna Portal’


Launched By: Rajasthan
Aim: The aim is to bring transparency and accountability and empower the right of the people to seek
information.
Key Features:
• ‘Jan Soochna Portal’ has been launched under Rajasthan Innovation Mission (RAJIV).
• Rajasthan becomes the first state in the country to provide information about a dozen
departments on a single platform.

35 Mukhya Mantri Dal Poshit Yojana


Launched By: Uttarakhand
Aim: To provide ration card holders 2 kg of pulses at subsidized rates every month.

36 Mukhyamantri Vyapari Samuhik Niji Durghatna Beema Yojana
Launched By: Haryana
Aim: To provide insurance coverage to the trading community
Key Features:
• The selected beneficiaries will be provided with a maximum coverage amount of Rs.5 lakhs, as
per the turnover slabs.
• In case of death of the beneficiary, then his/her family members can claim the full amount that
has been stated in the insurance paper.
• In case of permanent disability of the beneficiary in the accident, then the 100% insurance
coverage will be provided to the beneficiary.

37 Mukhyamantri Vyapari Kshatipurti Beema Yojana

Aim: To provide insurance coverage to all registered small/ medium traders, shopkeepers and self-
employed persons

38 Project Gaushala
Launched By: Madhya Pradesh
Aim: To protect abandoned cows
Key Feature:
• People can adopt a cow for a minimum period of 15 days and can go on supporting it till
animal’s lifetime.

39 Ayushman Bharat – Mahtama Gandhi Rajasthan Swasthya Bima Yojana


(AB-MGRSBY)
Launched By: Rajasthan
Aim: To offer free treatment to those who fall in the financially weaker sections.
Key Features:
• The beneficiaries of this scheme can attain treatment at specified hospitals. As for the medical
expenses, the Rajasthan government will reimburse the bills.
• The validity of the cashless medical insurance policy will get over after one year. A new
premium payment will activate the scheme for the successive year.

• Under the scheme, a sum of Rs 13,500 per annum in 3 installments will be provide to the
farmers in which the contribution of the State government is Rs 7,500 and the contribution of
the Central Government is Rs 6,000.

45 YSR Kanti Velugu Scheme

Key Feature:
• Under this scheme, the natives of Andhra Pradesh can screen their eyes free of cost and
spectacles will also be provided.
• It is a part of the Fit India Movement.

Aim: To provide financial assistance of Rs 10,000 per annum to auto-rickshaw and cab owner

Aim: It aimed at felicitating citizens who take accident victims to hospitals.
Key Feature:
• Under the scheme, the government provides a reward of Rs 2,000 and a certificate to a good
samaritan for taking the accident victims to a hospital.

48 Mukhya Mantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana

Aim: It aims to empower the girl child
Key Features:
• If a girl child is born, then that family will get a total of Rs 15,000 at different stages on
graduation from birth.
