BS Criminology III-I Philippine Literature

ACTIVITY 1

Since our country was on the process of progress in fighting the world pandemic
CORONA VIRUS, it is also a huge thing to consider the consistency of the education we have
in our country how they deal with this world problem and state of literacy. As I examined
things I can clearly see what’s the importance of having an education specially in this time
when everyone was actually suffering not only to the virus itself but also the hunger it
brings to many Filipino people and the scarcity we have been experiencing from the past 6
months. As I see the previous reality I could totally said that our government failed to give
solution in a growing struggle of learning.

We can now see the difficulty of having an online class, let me state first the
disadvantage of having this kind of set up in studying, first not all students have an stable
internet and not all have a smart phones to reach out for their online assignments and
online class, second for me online class was not a conducive way of learning because the
student was not able to learn in a traditional way attention wasn’t focus on their professors
and answering an online assignment based on google (we don’t need to be hypocrite) was
not actually learning but a mere copying of an idea without understanding the concept,
third the opportunity to learn was only for those people who have the privilege to have it
so how about the students who wanted to learn but they don’t have a stable internet or
they really don’t have an internet and they can’t understand a lesson without someone
explaining it in person. There are a lot of disadvantage in this blended learning process but
I can only give what I actually experience right now and what I observed.

Of course if we have the disadvantage we also have the advantage of having a

blended learning process. First, since we have a pandemic virus blended learning will help
not to transmit the virus because rapid transmission can be stopped, second Filipinos
believe that health is wealth so parents will not take the risk of bringing their children in
school if they know that their lives are in danger. Third, online class limit the travel time
and it was less costly because the students no need to go to school every day. And lastly, it
makes you feel comfortable learning inside your own houses. For me blended learning
process was more effective than any learning process rather than pure online class and
rather than pure face to face, but we have to accept the fact that it still has it advantage and
disadvantage and as I know all things have advantage and disadvantage. Before I end this
opinion, always remember that learning depends on the person because no matter what
the teachers do if the student doesn’t want to learn they will not learn. Education is
important but health is more important than anything in this world.
