Why wash manufactured sands?

Crusher dust has traditionally been seen as a waste product but the introduction of
our sand washing technology will allow you to recover a washed manufactured sand
which is most commonly used in the manufacture of concrete.

The typical profile of crusher dust contains a high proportion of material below 75
micron – usually between 12% and 20% of the feed falls into this range. The
introduction of our customised washing and classification technologies is the best
way of ensuring the accurate removal of these unwanted fines to enable production
of commercially viable concrete sand.

Accurate classification is achieved through the use of our hydrocyclone technologies.

Traditional sand washing systems when employed to process crusher dust will
typically lose a large proportion of material in the 75 micron to 150 micron range to
your settling ponds or water treatment phase.

This not only produces excess waste from the process by compromises on the
quality of the final washed manufactured sand product. As crusher dust is typically
very lean in the 75 micron (200 mesh) to 600 micron (30 mesh) range it is essential
that your chosen processing system is efficient in the recovery of this material to
your washed manufactured sand product.

Our customised manufactured sands washing plant will address all of these issues
and facilitate the production of a washed sand product that can be used as a natural
sand substitute.
