ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT
The study determined the relationship between the amount of soda and the
High School. The student-athletes were chosen through stratified random sampling and
grouped them in line with their sports particularly basketball, volleyball, football,
swimming, ultimate Frisbee and track and field. Random sampling was used afterwards
Major findings presented that there was a relationship between the endurance
level, with and without soda intake, in the respective sport of the student-athletes with a
very weak to strong positive relationship except for volleyball which has a weak
between the amount of soda intake and the endurance level of their sport. Based on the
data, the amount of soda intake varied depending on the sport each of the respondents
play. Track and field student-athletes consumed the highest amount of soda (460 mL).
In the cases of during practice and before, during and after practice, no endurance level
can be inferred due to the minimal number of respondents who answered these time of
intake. Hence, the endurance level (with soda consumption) was dependent on the time
of soda intake.
In using descriptive and Spearman’s rho in analyzing data, the results showed
that there was an overall weak relationship on the amount of intake (in mL) and
endurance level with and without intake of soda. Generally, experimental research
