AUTHOR INTRODUCTION:

The Author of Book “SWORD OF ALLAH” was A.I Akram (Agha Ali Ibrahim Akram). Agha Ali was
born in Ludhiana in 22 September 1923 and he did his higher studies and joined army but after
partition, he chose to join Pakistan army. A.I Akram also served as Chief instructor at Command
and Staff College, Quetta. During his service, he has command on detailed and objective
literature on Muslim Military History. Pakistan Army’s Lieutenant General A.I Akram also a great
Historian. A.I Akram wrote many books about Early Muslims Conquests. The first and most
famous book, he wrote was “THE SWORD OF ALLAH”, which was on life style and campaigns of
Khalid bin waleed, this book published in 1970 after five years of lots of efforts, including visits
of battlefields of Khalid bin waleed in Lebanon, Syria, Jordon, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The
book “SWORD OF ALLAH” was compulsory subject in Pakistan military for several years. The
book “SWORD OF ALLAH” Originally published by ARMY EDUCATION PRESS, RAWALPINDI and
printed by FEROZE SONS, PUBLISHERS, and LAHORE.

The second book of his published after four year which named “ THE MUSLIM CONQUEST OF
PERSIA”, after visiting the battlefield in Iran and discussion with Iranian scholars.

Third book he wrote “THE MUSLIM CONQUEST OF EGYPT AND NORTH AFRICA” also took four
years to published, after visiting Egypt and Tunisia.

Last book he wrote “THE RISE OF CORDOBA” which was published in 1986.

A.I Akram was retired from Pakistan Army in 1978. A.I Akram died in 1989.
BOOK SUMMERIZATION:
Khalid bin al-waleed was one of the greatest General of Muslims Army and History of Islam. Khalid bin
waleed was born in a highly respectable family of BANU MAKHZUM the tribes of QURESH in MAKKAH in
585 A.D. His father is the famous poet and the richest men in MAKKAH. As per their family tradition
Khalid bin al-waleed was sent to Bedouins in barren region to learn his own, their he learn and gaining
skills of warfare, he was mastered in many combating proficiencies like using sword, spike, Bow and
spear etc. He was tall with big shoulders and bodily very strong. Khalid bin al-waleed accepted Islam
after the treaty of HUDABIYA between MADINANS and MAKKANS which were occurred in 628 A.D. After
that Khalid bin al-waleed officially join Muslims.

Khalid bin al-waleed was one of the best and greatest commander and strategist in the battlefield. In
battle of MU’TAH Khalid bin al-waleed defeat the grand BYZANTINE Army with his Muslim Army and
unbelievable bravery of his in the front line of battlefield. When Rasoolullah (S.A.W) hear the news of
great victory of MU’TAH at that time Rasoolullah (S.A.W) gave the title of “SAIFULLAH” which means
“THE SWORD OF ALLAH” to Khalid bin al-waleed because of his valor & gallantry in the frontline of
battlefield.

Defeating the MUSAYLIMAH KAZZAB Army; MUSAYLIMAH KAZZAB actually he was a false prophet at the
time of khalifah Abu Bakr Siddique, after Rasoolullah (S.A.W) the first khalifah Abu bakr siddique
decided to giving the task to Khalid bin waleed to find out the MUSAYLIMAH KAZZAB and kill him. In
battlefield at first many Muslims were martyred, but when command of Muslims Army were given to
Khalid bin waleed then with his combat skills in battlefields, he climbed on a hill and studied the
situation and then attacked on MUSAYLIMAH KAZZAB Army with his Muslims Army, At the end Khalid
bin waleed kill MUSAYLIMAH KAZZAB and defeat his army.

The second greatest contribution of Khalid bin waleed at the time of khalifah Abu bakr siddique was
liberation of Iraq and defeating Romans Empire. The torture of Persian ruler on Iraqis was on the peak,
therefore the first Khalifah Abu bakr siddique was appointed two leaders one is “OBAIDAH IBN AL-
JARRAH(R.A) & the second was “AMR IBN AL-AS (R.A) to conquer Roman territories. But, after knowing
the large number of Romans Army awaiting for them, then they were send a message to Khalifah Abu
bakr siddique then he decided to send Khalid bin waleed to take charge and defeat the Roman’s,
Roman’s has better equipped and greater in quantity than Muslims but the great strategy and tactical
mind of warfare of Khalid bin waleed defeat Roman Empire and release the Iraqis.

Khalid bin waleed sacrifice on his Command-ship after the Battle of YARMOUK; after the first Khalifah
Abu bakr siddique the second Khalifah appointed was UMAR (R.A). The second Khalifah UMAR (R.A)
decided to make “ABU OBAIDAH” as new General of Muslims Army, Khalid bin waleed accept the
decision of second Khalifah UMAR (R.A) and left his place for Obaidah (R.A).

At last; Khalid bin al-waleed was one of the righteous companions of Rasoolullah (S.A.W). He deserves
the Designation of “SWORD OF ALLAH” given by our Prophet Rasoolullah (S.A.W) for his unbelievable
skills f warfare and great strategist in the battlefield. He was never feared in the combat zone and wins
the fights against the disbelievers of Islam. Khalid bin waleed. In battlefield Khalid bin waleed receive
many countless wound on his body to saving the life of our Prophet Rasoolullah (S.A.W). He died in 642
A.D in SYRIA at the age of almost 57.

The book “SWORD OF ALLAH” is recommended for the students of different backgrounds, so
that they can have idea about how the life of companions of Prophet Hazrat MUHAMMAD
(S.A.W) has been passed, what difficulties they faced for Islam.

This book is also mainly recommended for military soldiers, to know the battle winning points
and to learn from the bravery of Khalid bin waleed. This book is a complete source of guidance
for the layman. It has defined many rules and history of Islam which is helped for all of us in
many ways.
