Equipment Overview

The Halliburton Equalizing Prong assembly is a proven positive plug. The equalizing
prong assembly is used for a wide range of applications where it is necessary to hold
pressure from above and below. The assembly is designed for use where sediment or trash Design Specifications
may collect on top of the plug. The prong weldment should extend above the build up and
offer a clean fishneck for retrieval. Two wireline trips are required to run or pull the Fish Neck OD: 3.125”
assembly. When pulling the assembly, the first step is to retrieve the prong weldment. No-Go OD: 3.808”
This allows a controlled equalization of pressure across the assembly. When fully Material: 9Cr – 1 MO
equalized, the lock mandrel and remaining plug assembly is retrieved on a second wireline 1 Length: 54.54”
trip. Top Thread: 3 1/16-12 SLB BOX
Pressure Rating: 6015 psi
The Halliburton Equalizing Prong Assembly is comprised of a lock mandrel, prong No-Go only
weldment and prong housing. The alpha characters in the Equalizing Prong Assembly 25,590 psi
part number indicate the lock mandrel used in the assembly and the landing nipple in Calc Burst
which it is installed. The PXX Equalizing Prong Assemblies are made up on Otis X or 20,130 psi

XN Lock Mandrels and installed in Otis X or XN Landing Nipples. The PRR Calc Collapse
Equalizing Prong Assemblies are made up on Otis R or RN Lock Mandrels and Service: H2S
installed in Otis R or RN Landing Nipples. The RNT Equalizing Prong Assemblies 3 Seals: Vee-Packing
are made up on Halliburton RNT Lock Mandrels and installed in Halliburton RNT
