As the plane flew lower, Lou saw the golden beaches of the island below.
The plane showed serious problems and the only thing that crossed his
mind was that he had to do something to not die, since the fall of the
aircraft was imminent.

When the plane reached the lowest possible height, before crashing,
Lou thought about jumping into the water of that wonderful island. He
grabbed a life preserver and without thinking twice, he jumped.

As he fell, Lou felt the freedom that he had not witnessed for
more than 20 years, his lungs breathed that fresh and pure air that he
had not felt for a long time, Lou cried with happiness, he could not
believe what was happening, he was not even worried about the great fall
that It could lead him to death, he didn't even know where he was, he
just felt how little by little his past was erasing.

Lou was a tall African man who was airlifted in order to serve
and work for privileged Europeans. In his case, since he was never a
troublesome man and always chose to do quality work, he stayed with
an English man for a long time, so he had not been able to see the face
of the real world for more than two decades.

One day, Lou's boss received a huge offer for his purchase, so he
had to be transported to East Asia to serve someone with a high rank in
the government. He was full of curiosity to know how much the world
had changed since the last time he saw it. They told him that a plane
would pick him up and eight more slaves to be transported at dawn.

Despite having only slept two hours, Lou did not take his eyes off
the view of the plane, since he was enjoying a great landscape that he
knew he will not be able to see again in a long time.

In the middle of the way, the slaves could realize that there was a
certain degree of concern in the people who piloted the plane, they did
not take much importance, but after a while they began to feel how the
plane had constant turbulence, so they began to panic and when it
seemed that everything was going to be better, the plane stopped
working and Lou just felt how rapidly it was falling. Without wasting
time, he told his companions to grab a life jacket and be ready to jump.

And that's how Lou felt the true freedom after a long time.
